guys

I am trying to fit my side skirts, done 1 side but having a slight issue! everything seems to be clipped in properly but the bit behind the door where the weather strip is, sits away from the car. there are not clips or fixings there!!! so what is the problem do you think??? everything else is in line and looks fine :!:

appreciate the advice.

here's a photo:

the last clip hasnt engaged, you Really need to give it a good thud with the palm of your hand, really go for it.... you know once its in, i guess they are alittle mishaped and need some man handling to kind of bend them in place ect ect

As I'd posted before much to Beedub's shock you sometimes have to go as far as a block of wood fabric wrapped wood and a firm hit to engage that rear clip. Make sure oyu are using new male and female clip parts and not trying to force a second clip into the same location and rather obviously that the clip has not dropped out while fixing others.

Finally try unbolting the lower fixings and then clip that one in first and work forward from there.

i had the same problem after the garage fitted mine.

I unclipped the front and bottom one... and then hit hit it a few times.... and you can hear it clip in place.

I just used my palm and really shocked it with a sharp jab, very quickly and alot of pressure... I felt mine click in, its plainly obvious if they dont as thry look like navids...

Go on soooonnnn give it sum welllyyy!!

That's the difference between a firm 'jab' from a boxer and one from a banker :)

thanks but after a good kicking and punching still the gap exists. it is not the rear but the front where the door hinges are, I know something hasn't clipped in properly but which one?

It's identical to how mine were:

Does need some brute force to the clip thats just in front of the door jam.

thanks for the advice guys, will try a bit more on monday if not, as CJ suggested take it off and re-fit it

is this not fowling the door now when you open and close it??

the dreaded aero skirt curse,.... dad daaa ddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

lets hope mine dont fly off when im driving!!! lol....... Are you using all new clips?? its worth while extracting the old ones if your not.... Also just of note my skirts were definitely mishapen in terms of going on the car, along time in the box im afraid, so this may take alot of force to bend into the correct shape for things to locate.......

the door opens and closes normally, no issue there.

I did use all the new fixings that came with the kit. just one question, you know them fixings that slide on the back of the sill, do you put them on the car and then slide them into the skirt? or do you put them on the skirt and the just push them in to the bodywork?

yes slide them into the sill, then the female part is in the whole on the metal sill as youve already put this here, at this point i then push these on.... job done. if you trying to slide them on then dont bother, the one at the back points downwards so no sliding is going to work :-)

that's exactly what I have done, slide them in first and then just push in place . as you said, tried it the other way round but due to the fact that some are directional and you don't really see anything, stopped.

I'll have a look on Monday and see what is what, something somewhere hasn't clipped in as all of you guys said, just have to work out which one and where :(
