Hi folks my z has black leather seats and the drivers seat bolster is looking a bit worn ,any one know what i can do to fix it .I was thinking about a referb to it if pos, anyone had this done if so how much did you pay !! :tumbleweed:

I've got some experience in this. My beige interior had the same thing going on. First, dying the affected area didn't help much. Second, if your car is out of warranty then it will really be expensive let alone the leather wouldn't match up with the other leather parts. Last, you gotta start getting into your car differently: sit down at hard angle relative to the steering wheel getting your bum on the seat without rubbing the bolster(or rubbing slightly), then swivel to get into the proper driving position. Good luck.

Get hold of John from Bespoke leather, he sells Scuffmaster kits, Its a well known dye kit that will rejuvenate your leather and make it look new again. I've used it a lot on E36's and E46's with excellent results. Have a look e36coupe.com, there's some reveiws with photographs :)

Have a look at this company, few of my mates used their leather products on their car leather where they have worn, and they look superb.

I used KIWI leather dye, which is a liquid. Dab it to apply , dab with a clean towel while still wet, repeat in 3 hrs and then let dry 12 hrs, then apply leather treatment and it has been 1.4 years and still good to go.

Likewise, if the wear is really bad, I have 2 black OEM //M leather seat covers available, which would replace your current seat cover.

If you are interested let me know.

If you (or anyone else) need to go one step further, these guys are the best in my book to repair anything having to do with interiors:

Franchises in different countries.

Wow, the KIWI leather dye fix looks great.

Did you just put it on the worn section, or the whole seat to ensure color matching?

I assume it comes in different colors - which one did you pick?

Wonder if I should wait til warranty expires before doing that....

I see a business opportunity to start shipping passenger side seats each way across the Atlantic /Europe as it's only the drivers side that gets worn :)

Bob - you're restoration looks good for a DIY fix Vs all the expense of retrimming, etc.
