Diagnostics/programming issue (Autologic)

I've had an issue with my boot not opening from the key since I got some of the memory settings changed (see here)

I went to the garage again and he plugged in his computer to check the settings. The one to open the boot from the key is activated and the button on the key works because the mechanic checked to see if a signal was being detected from it - but it doesn't open the boot :scratchhead: He undid the changes from the previous visit but still no luck :?

Does anyone have any hints or had a similar experience? This is the kit he's using:

He offered to reset it to factory settings and start again if I like - has anyone tried that? Thanks

wierd - I would have thought the boot switch in the car would send the same signal as that from the key :idunno:

boy was I glad on the lock in the boot at the weekend after shutting the boot with the battery disconnected

I've now noticed my other key has completely stopped working since my last trip to the garage - I wonder if the guy somehow disabled it!! So now I can't open the boot from my key and the second key doesn't work at all. I'm not impressed  :headbang:

maybe it has lost charge? can you start the car with it? If so go for a drive to charge it and try again...

Trying to open the car manually using the other key caused the alarm to go off. I'll try unlocking with the first key and using the 2nd key to start the car. Can't see that being an issue.

Tried this today but didn't work :(

Another trip to the garage needed I guess

Thanks anyway

Hi there, I will post here and on mine. I don't know how to add a hyperlink.
Ok, try to look at the wires that go from your body to the trunk. On mine, being LH driver..the wires are on the rh side of the trunk when you open it up. Move the rubber boot back and check the wires on one side, then do the same on the other side. If you need pics, let me know and I will take a couple of my car for clarification.

I had a look now by opening the compartments in the boot which are behind the lights on both sides of the boot. Behind each was one set of wires plugged into a sockets plus a few white/cream looking dials/plugs which are probably for the lights.

Did you move the 'carpet' or lining around the sides of the boot to see the wires? When you had this problem were you still able to open the boot from the button in the car?

I'll have a better look during daylight tomorrow. If you have pics that would be great as well as a bit more detail on what was wrong and how you fixed.

Thanks a bunch

Don't know if this is any help. One of mine completely stopped working some time ago and I think this is what the stealer did
