LED indicators. Anyone converted?

Mostly Holland. Sometimes UK.
Just watched zed4me's (igeak691 on this forum) youtube vid and his LED conversion. Looks pretty nifty.

Anyone converted to LED bulbs and if so, where did you purchase from? website he quotes is US-based and delivery costs and silly import taxes will make cost to UK/Europe a bit stupid imo.
Is it a chew to get into the headlight units to convert indicator bulbs? I have xenon's and am yet to have a poke around.

I like those, although his claims that LED brake lights come on so much quicker that they may stop a rear end collision is a bit naff, we are talking milliseconds lol..

I've not found any for the front yet but do have a PY21 set for the rear that I will put in once I code out the blub check. Got them in the UK but they were about £40...
Planning to do brake bulbs too (as part of BFD3 - flashing if it's possible) but can only find those in the US. For the brakes they defo light up quicker, if you follow behind the third brake light is on fractionally before the outers, at speed it's probably only about 20ft difference though.

20ft difference could make all the difference tho if u think about it. maybe just enough time to avoid a rear-ender.

Don't the brake lights already light up differently depending on the braking? Sure I read in the manual that under heavy braking they do?

'abs brake-force flashing' i think it's referred to. i noticed i can do some coding for this in Carly. can turn it off or on i think. i found this handy if i was following idiots at the 'ring as noobs usually brake late going into bends and end up with a tank-slapper. good warning to back off a bit til they compose themselves. lol

I couldn't really tell the difference?

What are the advantages of converting to LED for these particular lights?

I have LED's in rear and sides. The sides are standard T10 bulbs (similar to these but I don't have the original link), the rears are these (link). No canbus errors with either.

I tried some front ones (these) but found the LED variants don't fit the indicator holders so have gone back to standard for the moment.

front and sides flash uniformly without as much 'drop off' or fade-out as with normal bulbs.
brake lights would come on a few ms quicker when touching the brake pedal.

The indicators are plenty bright enough - far brighter than standard

Yes they do, on the pre facelift the rest of the circle unless modded. On the facelift the fogs come on. I think flashing would get the message across better.

The guy behind thinking, "look at this tw@t turning his fogs..." crunch. If they even noticed at all. I think it would be clearer it was an emergency stop in fog too.

Not fitted yet, here's where I got them from though: http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/xtreme-vision-py21

They are top quality as you'd expect. I don't plan on using the resistors obviously.

Did the rear indicators work as a direct replacement? I bought these but they don't work. When I put the hazards on, the brake lights flash, and when I indicate the dashboard light flashes really quickly and nothing at the rear lights up :?

Because they are seen as blown bulbs by the car. You have a couple of options: Fit load resistors, get canbus LEDs (essentially just load resistors included in the LED package), or code out the bulb checks.

Yeah, they worked as a direct replacement. There is a bit of a flicker on the indicator lights on start-up, but then no problems. I ordered the type you linked, but found that those didn't fit without cutting away a lot of the plastic holder, so never tried them.

No issues at rear - lights on (apologies but its pretty bright so you can't see lights on very well), you can see the indicators are plenty bright enough, and no impact/flicker on the rear lights.
