YF57 ELC for sale (3.0si roadster). Good buy?

That looks like a very nice car (love the wheels) great cookout combo too. I cannot comment on the number of owners but I would definately view the car.
 
Don't know if you have it, but the " Vehicle Smart " app gives you all MOT, advisories etc, tax info.
 
Yep, got that app thanks. Seems the car has only done around 400 miles in the last year so been stood a lot. Going to view tomorrow.

Says the soft top can be lowered from the keyfob, was this an option from BMW?
 
That was a forum car previously i believe , a proper nice example with aeros & front M bumper too :)
Gareth was the chap , still on here with a Vo E89 now .

Surprised to see it back up for sale. It's had little use since i sold it in May 2016. About 800 miles.

I fitted the gaptech roof module to the car
 
Jeez that's gorgeous. If that was a coupe I'd have it in a flash! (please tell me there's a coupe version around like that somewhere!).

There is , forum guy lives near me in Lancs "GMANLAW " Midnight blue , M bumpers front + rear , quadpipes & aeros , its a stunning 3.0Si but not often seen on here & not to my knowledge for sale :wink:
 
Thanks Gareth, the guy did say that it's literally been out 3 times since he bought it. When you replaced the roof motor did you relocate it or still in original position? Assume it was sat in a pool of water as usual? Did you manage to do anything to the drain plugs to try to prevent problem re-occuring?

Also, how did you find the ride on the Eibachs with the 19" wheels. Realise the std suspension is pretty hard, so was wondering if this was any better or worse?

The roof motor wasn't relocated so it's still in its original position. If i'd kept the car I would have had it moved. All the work was carried out by Cooper BMW in Teeside who also replaced part of the wiring loom where water had tracked down it and caused some corrosion. From memory the total bill was about £1300. The car was always garaged under a car cover while i had it and rarely was taken out in the wet. Looking at the AT advert, the current owner has garaged the car so would expect the motor to be pretty much like new.

The Eibachs were fitted in Feb 2016 and the ride improved significantly over the standard springs. Firm but far less 'crashy' particularly on poor road surfaces.

Trust me if you're in the market for 3.0si this is the one to buy. If I could justify having two Zeds i would buy it back. It's the only car I've ever regretted parting with.

GJC72 how much were the eibach and were they a particular model. I'm thinking of fitting a set over the winter

From memory around the £130.00 mark. They were purchased as Christmas present by my parents who sourced them from a supplier advertising on eBay Germany. However, that was in December 15 when the exchange rate was more favourable.

I think the part numbers for the roadster and coupe are different so you'd need to check. If you go to the Eibach website they have an online catalogue where you can find the correct part number for your vehicle.
 
Sold! Pick it up Saturday. Managed to get him down to £8,600 with a full tank of fuel. Coming from an e46 m3, obviously not as rabid in terms of acceleration but what a lovely smooth engine.
 
Good stuff , another one stays in the family :oops: the Si does need to be kept up in the revrange & sport button on especially compared directly to the S54 , once used to it though they are a great all rounder for half Z///Money :driving:
