I could cry! Does anybody know where I can find a black wing mirror? Mine are the electric folding ones

Hmm was just going to say I have one but I don't think its a electric folding one. Although only way I could tell is if you know how many pins your plug has and I'll check it against mine.

I don't know how many pins there are tbh, I was going down the road and clipped a small wall. I'm so upset

Jeez, if you were cutting things that close, you're lucky you didn't clip the rear wing as well...

Good luck with the search, unfortunately electric folding mirrors don't seem to be that common - have you tried eBay?

Yeah I've had a look at eBay and there aren't any

Could you pm me how much you want for it

WIng mirrors are one of the first things to go from a breaker's. I knocked one off a Suzuki Baleno and rang about 20 breakers before finding one.

I'd take the non electric one, and then ask a few Specialist BMW breakers to give you a shout if and when.

Real bad luck hope you find a replacement soon.

On photo 2 is that scratch marks on the door I can see, possibly caused when the mirror broke

Yeah it's dented the door as well! I just hope I can find one, even a non folding one

Everything for this car is impossible to get hold of! It's a nightmare

The non-electrically-folding ones are much cheaper IIRC (about £150), compared to the folding ones (about £400) last time I looked.

Do you need the glass as well? If so that's going to add a bit.

You could try bmminiparts.co.uk to see if you can at least save a bit from the dealer prices.

Here's a N/S one on ebay.

There are a few others, but I'd assume the ones on ebay are non-electrically-folding unless told otherwise.

Thankfully the glass is ok! I dont mind paying for the right one! Where can I get the part number?

Certainly an auto dimming mirror that one.

RealOEM.com or BMWFans.info are the best bet.

Just put the last 7 digits of your VIN into the decoder, then go to the 'vehicle trim' section, and 'outside mirror' subsection, then the 'bright black' section. There are many variations of the mirrors, but I think your's is probably 51167189772 (heated, folding, LHS on UK car) (direct link) - although there are different numbers for shadowline, individual, exclusive, auto-dip, electric folding, etc.

Hi mate, looking at the picture it appears a clean break.
I had the same problem when I was using my friends Gallardo, parked it up, didn't fold the mirrors and came back 20 minutes later to find very similar looking damage. (it had electric folding mirrors)
I took it to a local body shop guy with a good reputation who removed the mirror and welded it with some kind of epoxy resin or chemical metal.
He charged me 50 pounds and it worked fine for another 10 months until the car was sold.
If you haven't already ruled a repair out I would try a body shop.
Best of luck
