Hi,

I have been toying with the idea of selling my car for couple of months now. Hasn't been advertised anywhere yet, just want to gauge interest here first. Spec below if anyone is interested PM me.

Regards
SGRG

Car details are as follows:
3.0 2003 6 speed manual
47469 miles covered so far
Sterling Gray with black heated leather seats
Black roof
Xenon
Business CD with 6 disc changer, 10 speakers.
108s wheels - 2 new non runflats were added when i picked the car up in August 2010, 2 new rear non runflats added last year.
Sports button
AA warranty expires August 2012 - doesn't cover roof though.

Downside:
1. No satnav - don't think it's important as there are better portable ones available now
2. No multi function steering wheel
3. Cruise control - cruise can be added easily yourself there is a good how to here somewhere. Thinking about doing it myself if i decide to keep the car around.

Rest are standard features abs, airbags etc.

Mods:
1. Removed standard aerial with a stubby from a Peugeot - reception is decent.
2. Sound generator mod - removed the foam closest to the cabin. Can be put back easily. There is a good sound improvement.
3. Added gaptech one touch and remote roof module - allows control of roof via your key. Works perfectly.

4. Added Aux input

Work done so far during my ownership:
1. An ignition coil was changed i think early last year.
2. Brake fluid and coolant flush done in Jan 2011.

Service:
1. Inspection 2 at Cooper Colchester BMW 17/10/2011. 14325 miles before the next service which is the oil service.

Misc:
Car has always been garaged during my ownership. When i bought it, it had done around 42k miles so it has done about 5.5k miles in 1 year and 6 months of my ownership. Convertible roof works perfectly. I am the fourth owner. I should have checked it properly as I am pretty sure the dealer said it had two previous owners before me. Regardless car is faultless. Random fact, i recently did a trip from Colchester to Bristol and back on one full tank of gas. Covered 390 miles which is pretty impressive for 3.0 liter sports car. Currently on a private plate. Images below shows the original plate number which i plan on putting back. Private plate S22UBG available at extra cost.

MOT expires - 05/08/2012
TAX renewal - 31/07/2012

I am looking for £7500.

Haha thanks for the suggestion Leon. Just thought it would be better to point that out now so i only get calls from people who want the zed as it is. I will sorely miss it once it is gone. Unfortunately i baby it too much hence mostly drive it when it's nice and bright i.e. i hardly drive it. Hope it goes to someone who truly appreciates these incredible machines.

Is this silver grey or sterling grey (hint of bronze in the latter)

I can't tell as particularly in the birds eye picture it looks bronzey!

Texasjohn thanks for pointing this out. I think it's sterling gray. I just looked up 2003 Z4 color options and it only has sterling gray.

if this was LHD i would be all over it, it is unfortunate there are so few us spec roadsters on here  good luck mate!

Thanks mate. Hopefully someone will pick it up soon.

Question to all forum members, do you think £7900 is reasonable for my zed?

In all honesty I would suggest it is optimistic looking at similar age and mileage cars. Dealers are selling for less in some cases and people tend to see it as a plus to buy from a dealer due to perceived peace of mind. Big plus with your car is that it loOks great in the pics and it is not an automatic.

SGRG I too am looking to sell my beloved Z4 after 2 years fun ownership, i was hoping to avoid private sale to avoid the canvassers etc. I was offered £4.5-5k as px on a new Seat Leon. Autotrader prices for a 2003 are from around £5.9k when i last looked. It saddens me when i bought it 2 years back at £10.6k! At £5k I'd rather keep it but I just dont have space anymore for 2 cars. Hopefully prices will rise in the summer but economy is not doing so well so the usual people who might have bought a fun weekend car are probably thinking twice about it at the moment which reduces the demand.

I've just sold my very similar spec Z4 for the asking price of £7750 on the Auto Trader. So you are just where you should be on price.

Posted car detail on Pistonheads for a month and not one call or email. So disappointing but hopefully the market will pickup...fingers crossed.

Have been in this car, SGRG is a top guy and his car matches his photos.........MINT.

Hes the reason why I brought mine haha.

Good luck with sale mate.

Yamiuchi, mate thanks for vouching for me and the zed. Really appreciate it. I am totally up for meeting up, maybe we can go to a meet if there is one soon. That is if my car is not sold by then as there are few interested parties.
I was contacted by a fellow member regarding my zed, so hopefully if all goes well we will schedule a viewing at Highwoods Tesco car park again haha. Although he did want to come to my house to view, i am bit uncomfortable with that at the moment. How do you guys feel about that? i.e. having people come to your house for viewing your car. I prefer public area first and house is fine after that i suppose. I will pm you Yamiuchi.

Bittersweet day! I have taken deposit for my zed. Car will be sold to fellow forum member Z4Mac's misses, pending private reg change back to original. Hopefully changing reg number back will be hassle free. Anyone have any idea what needs to be done? I can find out but just wondering if anyone has any advice here.

Z4Mac it was great meeting you guys but most importantly absolute pleasure doing business with you both. I will keep you posted on how i get one with the reg switch back.

Hopefully it won't be long before i will be back in a zed. Not so keen on the new zeds what so ever but a ///M Coupe now that is certainly my kinda car. Thanks everyone for all the help, i will certainly be trolling here in the background until the day comes to unveil the new zed in my life haha.
