Hi,
I've decided to move onto a TVR whilst I have a garage and another daily driver. I took one for a test drive and can't resist the change!
The Z4 has been great, completely reliable, great condition and a mega spec I don't think you'll find anywhere else at this price. I have a couple of people interested at this price, one of which is the previous owner in fact (a testament to this particular vehicle that he wants to buy it back), but in case they fall through, I thought I'd list it on here:
I am selling my BMW Z4 Roadster in order to change to a TVR Chimaera. The BMW has been a great weekend car for me, attending many of the Pistonheads events around the country and always receiving compliments and comments regarding it's condition.
The car was first registered in December 2003, so it's a very late 2003 car. It's a 3.0i litre engine, producing 230hp and is an absolute joy to drive. It sounds wonderful, it's silky smooth and has plenty of power right up to 7,000 RPM to give you 0-60mph in under 6 seconds and a 155mph top speed. What's more is this car is loaded full of options - you'd struggle to find a car at this price point with all these options.
I've used the car as a weekend car. It's garaged all the time it's at my house and just gets taken out for weekend runs into the countryside. It's cleaned and waxed every time I take the car out, so it's in very good condition. The previous owner was also a member of Pistonheads and the Z4 Forums. He bought the car at 60,000 miles and took it across Europe on road trips twice and it was completely reliable.
Details:
December 2003 on a 53 plate
99,950 miles
Full service history (mostly BMW, some specialists)
Sports suspension (stiffer and 15mm lower)
Sat Nav and computer
DSP Top Hifi (also called Carver Hifi with the 2 subwoofers behind the seats)
CD Changer
Xenons
Genuine BMW wind deflector (rare and expensive to retrofit!)
Automatic headlights
Automatic wipers
Aero spoiler
Illuminated Z4 door sills (driver's has stopped working, passenger's works fine)
Rear parking sensors
Cruise control
Cup holders (yes, they were an option!!)
Upgraded BMW Style 125 18" alloy wheels
First aid kit
2 keys
Ring binder full of handbooks and receipts
HPI Clear - no accident damage or theft
Since I've owned the car I've:
Cleaned and rewaterproofed the roof with Autoglym Cabriolet kit
Clayed and waxed the paintwork
In November I had the front end (bumper, bonnet and blended wings) professionally prepared and repainted at a bodyshop due to scratches and stone chips (I have before and after photos). Looks like new now, so no stone chips or scratches present. Comes with a 2 year guarantee on the work
Complete wheel refurb on all 4 wheels in January
4x Brand new tyres fitted - Falken 453 in January (non run flats for a better ride)
Oil and filter changed myself in January
New Bosch Aero wipers
Just had new track rod ends, rack ends, camber adjusters and bushes in the front suspension along with a 4 wheel laser alignment.
New MOT February 2013 (only advisories were handbrake adjustment and slight wear in bushes – now fixed)
Tax until May 2013
Despite the mileage, the car is in very good condition. The seats have been replaced, the front end has been repainted, so there is very little to suggest the car has done 100k miles. The car drives perfectly, with no bangs, rattles, buzzes, or anything else untoward. It's a really lovely car, and it will be missed, but as I now have a garage, I want to scratch the TVR itch!
£5,600 – no offers on this price! It’s the tidiest sub £6,000 car you will find with these options fitted! Remember, xenons, sat nav and DSP are hard to find on these early 3.0i cars.
I also have the following additions I can include if you are interested....
Nearly new ZHP Z4M leather 6 speed gearknob. Always used with gloves, only 200 miles or so on it, as new.
Intravee system and Alpine iPod interface to the car.
Sports seats - black leather, electric memory seats.
Brand new hub centric spacers fitted (10mm front and 15mm rear) with brand new bolts inc. locking bolts.
The car with the above options will be £6,250.
