[vimeo][/vimeo]Hi All,

My car is fairly well know on here, but for those that don't know. For sale is my 2008 Z4 M Coupe in Sepang Bronze with light SB leather, BRAND NEW and genuine CSL wheels with Verdestein tyres, H&R lowering springs, and exhaust by-pass mod, FBMWSH including running in service, and it was serviced by BMW 1000 miles ago.

The current mileage is 15,250, this will rise as I'm taking the car to show at Gaydon, where it will also be advertised / available to view and inspect.

This is a very rare opportunity to buy one of the best Z4MC's available- a sure investment.

Asking price £24,495 - serious offers considers

Thanks for looking

It is indeed a stunner , gorgeous colour + wheel combo
Think you should drop the "a sure investment" from your ad though as by definition this would imply the new owner would make some money on it which is highly unlikely

+1

I seriously hope you get £24k for the car, but you're going to have to find a Sepang Bronze fanatic to sell it at this price with flimper spec.

I'd also drop the "brand new" brag regarding the CSLs, assuming they are the same as those unveiled on the car back in Feb (page 5):

And, probably the same as the "brand new" CSLs that you didn't sell with yopur previous ///MC:

You've got a great car that you're trying to make a bit of money on, and she really is a beauty, you don't need the "sleazy salesman" chat in your advert.

Hi,

The term investment does not indicate that an immediate return would be achieveable. I have not suggested this.
All I can say is that, if these cars continue to become 'collectable' like the Z3's have then this example will be one of the finest ones to put your money into.

As for the wheels, I hereby amend the wording to 'as close to brand new as you can possibly get on a car that has turned a wheel'. They have covered 1000 miles from new, and are beautiful. If you consider that considerable wear could have occurred by them being on the car in the garage since Feb, then we will have to disagree I'm afraid.

As for "sleazy salesman", please leave your opinion on my personality out of public domain.

Best,
Dan

To be fair, I didn't read Steven's comment as calling you a 'sleezy salesman', more that ad was written in the vernacular used by people of that ilk... something that a number of people have done accidentally and have subsequently changed when it's been pointed out to them that the wording gives 'a certain impression'. On the other hand, if you're a regular car trader, I'm sure you know what you're doing and have chosen to use the 'sleezy salesman' vernacular in your ad because you've found that it achieves the desired result....

One thing I would say, and this is an observation, not a criticism, is that anyone considering paying a premium to buy a car as a collectable, rather than a car to drive, is likely to want it to be as OEM as possible - the wheels are OEM (albeit from a different car), but the springs and exhaust mod may be a step too far and would require additional expenditure to return to stock.

Hi PerryGunn, I would be willing to return the car to OEM included in the price if the purchaser wishes.

I bought the car to enjoy it, so did a few things that I agree does move it away from being the 'perfect' collectors item.

I think it's worth the money. To me it's better without Nav as I'd rather put an expensive good navigation system on the screen as not a fan of the old system. I love it with the CSLs....and if I had my cash now, I'd even think of it over the Boxster....

The car is beautiful, and please, don't take that away from it....regardless of the price, spec, terminology used etc....

Lovely car, though as others have said quite a low-end spec - might limit the market, but it's a rare car so I am sure there's a buyer out there

Looking at the original thread though, this car was listed at £21k on P/H when you bought it - assuming you paid that, how is it now worth £3.5k more ? I know the market for these cars is solid, but that's a hell of a lot of appreciation in 6 months...

A car is worth what someone will pay for it, but, to put it in perspective, PVR has just posted that Hexagon, that well known 'value' car supermarket, have a 20k mile 2007 non-flimper-spec coupe at £20k

Blimey...just let him sell his bloody car lads......who the frick are we to say anything.....we'd be pissed off if anyone did that to our adverts......happens every time.

I do agree that this car is good money. However, not every 20,000 mile car has a BMW history, a very popular colour, 'virtually' new CSL wheels, very popular modifications, original paint etc etc.

As PerryGunn says, there will be someone that wants the right car.

The car was advertised at £21k, assuming that I paid that, then add the new (to me) CSL wheels, etc. It doesnt leave much profit...

...with the same pictures.

Appreciate if the car has been garaged then what's really different but a fresh set of photos might make all the difference than those taken on a cold, grey day. Especially given the asking price.

Good luck with the sale. It is a stunning looking car and colour combination.

The term used "a sure investment" as i interpret it says that once bought you will make money , no mention of timescale :?
I think it adds nothing to the advert of a genuinely rare ,stunning ZcM & also insults the intelligence of anyone slightly interested by implying that from £24,500 the value will only go up .

To be fair this does come up every time but if you want to sell something without opinions then a stick to autotrader!

Aside from nav this has got heated seats so not exactly poverty spec.

But as mentioned above for it to every appreciate/ be a collectable i cant actually see the mods as a negative (although personally i would prefer them if i bought it)

I wont comment on price... As it is worth what someone is willing to pay... So good luck with the sale.
