After 3 years of wheel shopping... et fin

Have been doing virtual wheel modding for the z4mc for the last 4yrs, and wheels have come and gone from my top 3 list, but after some late night shopping have finally pulled the trigger on a set of BBS FI replicas in 18's staggered 8/9 widths... a bit late for summer, however this gives me winter to get them painted "the right grey" and afford to put some chunky PSS's on them...

So initial thoughts were:

and doing some more photoshopping on my own car with some other reps in similar style:

so these are the actual wheels I've purchased but on a 1M, and I think they look good, but should look better on the lower profiled zed, and painted a subtle satin graphite of some description. The spokes are quite spaced, however, in 18 size and the z4m having reasonable sized callipers it should look "filled" and snug with the eibachs too...

Will post more pics when they come through the post... hurry up mrpostman :)

Nice, but I don't think 18's are going to look any where near your photo shopped examples. Don't mean to be critical but the coupe seems to swallow up wheels with most 18's (other than the std 108's) looking a little small. Subjective I know ...hope you're happy when they arrive.

That's the great thing about modding, it's all subjective... eye of the beholder and all that, so I'm putting my money where my style is :)

Yep the photoshops are probably showing the wheels at 19/20in scale, but it's only the style that I'm looking to represent. It's a bit of a risk not seeing them on a zed before, but a calculated one. Worst case scenario is that I'll have new tyres for my 224s which I'll refurb and sell the wheels on if I don't like them. But I think if I can get the colour right, with the eibachs on, the effect will be what I'm after... fingers crossed :driving:

In terms of wheel to rubber profile/ratio, this is what I'm hoping to achieve:

This is where the inspiration came from... just need to figure out how to get the satin graphite effect...

£350-400

Not far off Marius, you knows your wheels
Once colour and centre caps are sorted (devil and cost is in the detail) roughly about 1/10th cost of a pukka set

I've had quite a few sets in the past  my previous car have had 6 different set in two year, z4 on fourth set already :D

Really glad someone else is trying these wheels out

Shame the real ones cost a few thousand

... so far so good, I guess they are pretty heavy, a front wheel is 9kgs, but they have a pretty nice profile (if you're into this style).

The last time I checked, the FIs still cost £1500 each, so this is an extreme budget rep!!

"Someone else"? Are you thinking about these too :)
