......... but landed up covering most of South, West and a bit of Mid Wales in a 7 hour blast (20 minutes food break after 4 hours).
The plan was to take a drive along the A4069 (most of you will know this is the road that has been featured in a much loved Top Gear episode). First time driven on this road since my Mini days and what a road !!!!!!! It really tests the Z with a host of challenging bends and twists (made even better as I seemed to be the only car on the road so no annoying hold ups for the full 12 mile stretch. I would urge anyone to drive it and not come away with a smile on thier faces. Below are some shaky pictures (a mixture of fast driving and a Fiancee that was not trained by David Bailey !!!!!)

That was the planned trip. However, I read about another good run in the West Wales area that runs from Bryngwyn (deepest West Wales) to Tregaron (Midish Wales) on the A475/485. A mixture of winding forest roads punctuated by picturesque towns/villages and fast, mildly meandering stretches that allowed me to open up (within the legal limit honest!!!!). Even getting to the start of this run was highly entertaining with the sat nav taking me up some very odd tracks (one of which I was convinced was going to land up in a field !!!!!).

I then doubled back to take in this wonderful road before turning off heading back South to Sennybridge and through the highest points of the Brecaon Beacons (still snow capped ...... Other half a bit bored at this point so no pictures lol). To cap off an excellent run I wound up the road to the head of the Rhondda Valley for some more amazing views.

All in all, an cracking route and one I will be doing again in the not too distant future when the weather perks up a bit (possible meet later in the year ????? If anyone is up for it let me know). The worst part ???? Having to clean of the accumulated crap picked up throughout the day today !!!!!!
Oh and the all important stats of the journey -------
Av MPG - 35.7 mpg
Av Speed - 52 mph
Distance Covered - 320 miles
