Road trip to Glen Fruin Road/Strathaven Classic Car Show

Made the most of the lovely weather we had this weekend and went for a little drive to Loch Lomond/Glen Fruin Road/Coulport and back to Glasgow via Helensburgh. Was accompanied by my friend in his 350Z - it may be faster and have a noisier engine than my 2.0, but I was loving having the top down
Following the road trip yesterday, went to the Strathaven Classic Car show today - there was a small contingency from the BMW car club with three Z3s and plenty of M3s but sadly no Z4s - I'm guessing they're not old enough to be deemed classics yet! My favourite must have been the little BMW 3 wheel Lizetta...
















Apologies that the photos aren't fantastic - just starting to get to grips with SLRs and only a few pages in to the Dummies' guide!

looks liket day and only slightly jealous of the camera now (was going to buy it but u got there first ) ah well off to see a sony a330 on tuesday so may well be in the dslr world soon. nice pics and thanks for sharing

Glen Fruin - what a road, absolutely love it

The pic of the Z3s - I wonder if the blue one at the edge of shot is muppet? You don't recall the registration do you? (involving V1* LAN?).

I'm not sure Ally - all of the Z3s had BMWCC plates over their actual registration plates. Wouldn't be surprised if it was!

I really love the Z3 - I initially started looking for one instead of my Z4. Must say I'm happy with my choice though.

The Glen Fruin road is fantastic - just a pity there's a naval base there. Did feel a bit awkward taking photos of the glen and was expecting black vans to start tailing me at any minute!

The Hall Road from Balloch to Faslane (built for Nuclear Missile Trucks) Is fantastic,as is the continuation to Coulport base although the MOD police (my brother is one) now have speed guns and can do you for speeding as its their private road sort of :thumbsdown:

Didn't take the car to the show - my girlfriend lives in Strathaven so left it parked at her place and walked up to the car show. Maybe next year...
