:D Went to Bristol today to transfer my Private plate onto the Z4 which didn't take long to get my nice clean Z4 dirty due to the damp salty roads. The car actually looks worse now the salt has dried. Anyone got pics of their dirty Z? :)

How's this...

That was at about 3:30pm, and I didn't stop driving until 6:30pm, so there's another 3 hours worth of muck on that before I cleaned it.

:o Lol, now that is mucky! Mine was an 80 mile round trip on the M4, not quite the trip you managed.

*AL*, looks great, when I bought my Z4 I *had* to have one with ellipsoids, they are one of the best OEM wheels ever.

They're the 'new' garages at Donington aren't they? I'd know that pit wall anywhere :)

Spot on :D

You a regular?

I'm a motorsport marshal on the weekends, so know most tracks north of Castle Combe & south of Croft quite well - from the other side of the barriers of course.

WOW! dirty! al-which funny friend made the clan marks on your wheels!

No-one made the marks, there was so much salt/dirt that it actually peeled and fell off

Thanks WonderMike, was going to replace the alloys but decided the Ellipsoids were great.Bought a 46" Plasma instead lol. :)

Sounds good :) I bet you see plenty of crashes, there were 7 when I was there :?

I only do proper racing and not trackdays - although you get paid for doing trackdays, but not for proper races

You're stuck in one spot on the track from 8am to 6pm usually so some days there's lots to do and other days there isn't.

The last big one I covered was the Ginetta crash at Oulton Park in the F3/GT racing.

The closest call for me has been when Tom Onslowe-Cole went wide and got his rear tyre onto the grass out at Lakeside and then spun backwards into our marshal's post at in excess of 100mph. The car had surprisingly little damage and TO-C just sat there telling the pit crew that he'd stuffed it.

Wondermike was your Mouth out with Soap and Water, 108's have to be the best, especially in winter with all the salt around

I would too, TBH although I really like the 108s I always wanted the 107s ever since I saw the Z4, and like you say, no corrosion issues.

SRH - instead of replacing the 108s with the same, why don't you choose something else under warranty, it's been done before. I like the 135s (std Sport wheels) but also the 193s look good too.

mikes got a point- i know u wanted to keep the new 108 for when u sell but the way the market is (and to be fair always is) the conditionof ur wheel s will have little or no reflection on the value u get so u could even put the new 108s on and enjoy them!!

I had thought of that, and do quite like to look of the 3 series sport wheels you posted. I will ask the question when it comes to it, only thing is in the back of my mind if and when I come to sell, would be nice to put the 108's back on.
