Balance of manufacturer warranty left on the car including BMW assist (basically full european breakdown service).

It has Full BMW Service history (inc the essential running in service on time), as follows:

Pre-delivery check - BMW Distribution Centre, Thorne - 06/11/07
1200 runing in check - 1118 Miles - Barons of Hindhead BMW - 14/12/07
Oil Service - 12818 Miles - Sytner Nottingham - 10/02/09
Brake Fluid Change (24 months) - 21290 Miles - Sytner Nottingham - 29/09/09

I have the 2 paper invoices for the Sytners services as well, the car obviously includes the leather "M" wallet and all the manuals.

Currently done 25036 miles, with one previous owner (upto 2500 miles) - I'm in contact via email with the previous owner, i'm sure he'd be happy to dicuss the cars first 6 months of life.

I purchased it from Sytner Nottingham in July 2008 so owned by me for almost 2 years. Its my daily driver, i do a 70 mile round trip commute from Leicester to Nottingham every day mostly motorway, so its had a pretty easy life.

The car is in very good condition both inside and out, the wheels have been professionaly refurbised and have nearly new Continental tyres.

If your looking for a nice genuine enthusiast owned car then you won't be disapointed!

its currently on a private plate - this is not included in the sale

any trial, any inspection welcome!

I'd be interested in p/x for a 997 C2s or 996 Turbo - i'm fussy so it needs to be FSH, VGC, warranty, reasonable miles and good spec

hi, there are pics on the thread? are they not visable?

LOL i can't believe i missed the price! its £25250 ono

i can't see the pics :( probably just my laptop though - it's been playing up recently. I'll take a look at work tomorrow.

My opinion - the price is an attractive price but at any given time to sell a car you need to have a buyer who is looking for your kind of car.

You've dropped the price very quickly in car sales terms - most dealers drop prices about once avery month. You can end up dropping the price toof ar too quickly - I know I've done this before. It's your car to sell it for as little as you like but I think you just need to hang fire until the buyer turns up looking for your spec of car.

Good luck and hope you get what you want for it.

any thoughts? is this still too expensive?
Maybe around £23,500 would be a better bet - this price is still too close to BMW AUC prices for similar cars, and there should be a gap of £2.5-4k between AUC and private.

Agree with that - although I'd offer at a gap of around £2.5K. Also it is quite a niche car so you may need to hold your nerve a while. Not sure when their financial year ends, but have you tried an OPC? If it's December they may be needing to shift some stock!

From the service history and the current mileage, I'd guess there's less than 2,000 miles to go to an Inspection I. Maybe other people have read that into it too and don't want to spend another £600-£800 on a car a month or two after buying it?

no not yet, i figured they'd be having my pants down on a out right purchase :o

its over 4k till the inspection I is due

looking on AUC, the cheapest 57 car is 25,950(its almost identical to mine spec wise), so i'm a grand under that, okay i realise my initial price was a little ambitious, i'm open to sensible offers even at th current price

Really nice coupe

If on your investigation the nearest AUC '57 coupe is just £1,000 more then that's a sure indicator of being overpriced. The AUC is the screen price so you'd negotiate at least £1,000 off that. It of course will be delivered perfect with anything rectified and carry a years BMW warranty. People pay for all that comfort Vs private.

IMHO it makes yours still £2k+ over

i understand what your saying, you must me a much better negiotiator than me i've bought 2 from AUC and didn't get near getting £1000 off, let alone more... plus AUC cars need £410 road tax adding on, mines still got 7 months tax left... its also currently the cheapest 57 plate car forsale in the UK (well that i can find on the web) so surely it can't be that overpriced?

I'd expect around £1K off too... with reference to the tax and everything, people don't really take that into consideration when calling - when most people are looking at ads they'll see and compare the year, model and screen price, if you're out on that you may not get interest. As has been discussed on here before AUCs are having issues with M pricing too - many start out at a high price and then drop after a month or so. You'll only get to put your case to buyers if you get them through the door. If you're not in a hurry to sell I'm sure you'll be fine.

Still think it is worth having a word with an OPC, assuming they have one you like. Don't tell them you're going to trade-in until you begin negotiations. (Just watching Bad Boys with the 965... feeling itchy myself!)

Doh - I've not purchased one myself for a while, but I did negotiate for my buddy 4 months ago on his new '09 Z4. The dealer stated it was a new model, long waiting list and no discount. A week later the car was on order for £2k less that the dealers prior 'final' figure.

In the case of Tax, MOT's all I don't think people pay any attention at all, merely on the final closing stages of the deal when the minor haggling starts.

I guess if your getting no interest and need to sell, the price is too high. If lots of people are testing and looking then the price is right. (Had it sold in a week then it was too low). Also as PawnSacrifice notes if your in no hurry then don't drop the price, nor should you advise that it's been reduced as IMHO that shows weakness and panic to sell.

thanks for the feedback guys :)

sure i'm in no rush to sell, just wanted to make sure it wasn't pricing me out of the market ;) i'm certainly not giving it away, point taken about the "reduced" i'll ditch that

Beautiful car and just needs the right buyer to come and see it, then the haggling will start...

I don't think anyone who was serious about buying a car like this would ignore yours and not come view it regardless of whether they thought it was a little too dear.

Let's not forget that a 57 plate MC that does 0-60 in 4.8secs with remaining warranty is still overall a bit of a bargain at 25k.
