Just had a browse through the stock on British Car Auctions website and stumbled across this:

Looks like every toy and gadget is specced on this, FSH with 5 services including running in and last one at 50k in 09/12, it's even registered the day before tax rates went up so will only be £270pa!!

Bing you need to be at Nottingham Auctions next Thursday, this will go cheap and has your name on it!!

Make a few calls to BMW to verify servicing, I've checked the appraisal too:

That's in very good condition if you ask me, they over compensate so you're not disappointed, a £200 detail and it'll be gleaming! If you want to see more details just sign up to British Car Auctions site, takes 2mins, you don't have to be trade. 90% of their cars are trade ins from high end garages like Merc, Porsche etc and they don't want it on their forecourt so goes to Auction. Then the high street garages snap them up cheap and make £kk's of profit!

So, what do you think guys...?! Should Bing purrrrrrchase this?!

Well from the impression I've got being on this forum for 18 or so months, he wants, NO NEEDS an Imola ///M Roadster. BUT the only thing holding him back is the cost £££!

That's why I think this one ^^^ will be cheap enough for him to justify, is the colour, spec etc he wants and has good SH.

If he doesn't get it, please someone here get it, not some greedy garage!

Cost wise - it's bound to be a bargain. Low tax, auction prices. Win win

I must admit I'm tempted, but too far for me (and it's not white)

Here's the link although I'm not sure if it'll work as login is required:

Let me know if it works or not...

And yes, I'm tempted too! Imola M Coup for winter, Roadster for the 5 days a year it's warm and sunny!!

Link doesn't work for me :x

From the info and pictures already posted it looks lovely and ticks all the boxes including the lower road tax

My mate Daz05 put me on to this as I'm semi looking. Looks good, although not sure I'd take the gamble and bid over the phone on it, I'm too @nal when it comes to condition and it's 800 mile round trip.

And for info, it's not cheap tax, missed out by 3 days sadly.

I'm struggling to find out what commission BCA take.

There's also an Imola Red ///MR I pass on my way to work. Low mileage <£16k. Looks like a nice car!

In fact, for a small garage James Paul, have 2 ///MR's, an interlagos ///MC and an Alpina Roadster S!

What do you think the auction one would go for Woody?

I was looking at this one at auction last month, now up for sale at a garage - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/z4m-roadster/bmw-z4-m/1123937

It sold for £12000, plus 12.5% commission on top of that. It did have road tax though, where as the one above will be £475 on top of whatever you spend. I remember discussing with a mate there wasn't a huge amount of money in it for the dealer by the time he adds a warranty on, room for negotiation etc.

Fly down to East Midlands Airport, 1/2 hr from Nottingham

Haha, he's already suggested a road trip :) My worry is going all that way (or expense) to only find out it's not in good condition, needs money spent on brakes, tyres etc, maybe even the engine rattles etc, I wouldn't even get to drive it. I'm not comfortable with that, £1000 banger maybe, you take your chances, but that's a lot of cash with no come back. Not when I can spend another £1000 and get a cherished example or even AUC.

Bing, you need to do this now :poke:

The James Paul one is so local, you don't even need to go to Nottingham. Soon sort the dash out which is the only downside of that car.

Yer my bad, I thought the tax break off date was the 26/03/06 for some reason?! But alas not, it's the 23rd and this one was registered on the 25th. But as has been said, this really isn't a deal breaker, just would've been a Brucey Bonus!

In regards value, well that's a difficult one. I don't really follow the values of Z4M roadsters but I would've thought it'll easily sell for a couple of thousand less than the cheapest one on AT/PH.

Buyers fees, best to contact BCA directly. I think it's about £400 but don't quote me on that. Don't think it'll be much more...

And there was a couple I'm sure sold over the winter for mid £11k's so I reckon the Imola auction one will go for £10k, max.

Seriously I think this is worth a look, it has everything specced on it and has great SH. A bit of homework and a bargain to be had here :)

The James Paul one is £16k!!! That doesn't fit in with Bing's financial situation (ha I sound like his accountant now!)

Gwatson, you get all morning to inspect the car (brakes, tyres etc), then a good 5 mins to hear it running, rev engine, look under bonnet etc...

I bet this car has been traded in for a Porker or Merc and was taken to BMW for all it's services, premium tyres put on, well looked after etc. I've got the day off so might just pop along anyway!
