I will be needing some new front discs on the Z4M in the medium term.
Think i'm set on some genuine discs.
Where is the cheapest place that you currently know of them for sale?

Thanks in advance

Got mine from Awesome GTI start of the year, £320 I think. Search around for CSL disks, same size/spec etc.

These ones ? Saw them last night, £305 now.

I was looking for genuine BMW ones. I'm guessing that the difference between BMW and ATE is the BMW stamp?

ATE are the genuine part, you just don't get the white and black box with 'genuine bmw' written on it which cost an extra £70 or so and goes in the bin anyway  I think there was somewhere on Ebay you might be able to get them for £300 or £295 but don't know if they still do them. Around £300 will be the best your going to get for the genuine article.

I got a genuine (BMW boxed) set of fronts for £320 delivered from Germany, from an ebay seller (felgenbarth).

Couldn't find anyone cheaper (for genuine) or anywhere with ATEs in stock at the time.

BMW wanted £220 per disc.

I saw some brand new genuine rears yesterday. They had 'BMW' with all of the sizes and part numbers stamped into them, do the ATE discs have this?

No because your not buying them from BMW your buying them from ATE direct. The rear discs aren't Z4M specific, same as E46 M3 read discs, so your can get those virtually anywhere.

If you believe that fool on Cutters who thinks paying a BMW dealer £100 more for the same discs because they might be made from a different material or higher quality then that's your prerogative chap, I don't believe that for a second personally. The choice is yours though!

I saw the discs yesterday on the rear of an E46 M3 which are obviously the same rear discs as the Z4M. It didn't have any front discs, so i couldn't look at them.

Just trying to get the facts straight about the only difference being the BMW box which obviously isn't true ;)

Do the ATE discs have any markings ?

If you're happy with the ATE ones, message 'Danny the Duck' on here, think he found a supplier in Birmingham who could do them for a really good price.

The facts are:

1) The discs from ATE don't have the silver ring on the bell saying BMW and the part number, stands to reason as they don't get sold through BMW

2) one set will cost you over £400 because of BMWs standard mark up. The other set will cost you around £300

That's the choice, if your worried about different quality of whatever then hand your dough to the dealer, simples :)

That's all what i assumed and why i decided on genuine discs, i'm half thinking about resell time.

So back to my original post, where's the cheapest you've seen genuine (BMW) discs?

I will ask Harry Fairburn's on Monday as they are usually the cheapest dealers. Just seeing if anybody had been some great deals or discounts lately.

That looks like a good price from Awesome. Had good experiences in my Audi days of tuning.

Another option is a lad on eBay. They're up for £340 but welcomes offers. He's on cutters too. Happy to do circa £300 and that'll be my option when needed.

What's the best everyone can find for rears then? Hull Stratstone on eBay shows £255 delivered.

Fwiw, I bought 2 front discs from ECP when they were on offer for around £260 I think. They arrived in a pagid box but we're stamped ate. They've done around 10k now including a couple of laps of the ring and countless mountain passes (which can be pretty hard on brakes!) and they are holding up fine. No lip to speak of and no cracking or warping. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy them again and save myself a nice bit of money in the process over the official part.
