Replacement exhaust tips.

Have found these tips on ebay and have been discussing with the seller as to whether these will fit on the Z4M.My tips are really quite badly marked,i think the previous owner has sprayed strong acid wheel cleaner on them and it has dulled the chrome finish.
I have tried all sorts of metal polish,steel wool etc but just cant get them shiny :x :thumbsdown: .
If i get the thumbs up that these will fit is anyone else interested as we may get a bit of discount if we order a few sets?
 
They look good, however how are they secured? Is it screws or rivets, and if rivets do you need to take the back box off? If securing them isn't an issue they look the part so a :thumbsup:
 
I agree that 150 quid is a lot but dont really see what altenative there is to replacing my ratty tips.Have looked and dont seem to be able to find oem tips,not sure that they can be bought seperately.
I like my car to be spotless and the only thing that really pi$$es me off is the tired looking exhaust tips.

The only other way i can think of is to get them re chromed but dont know of anywhere local that does this and imagine it might be expensive as well.

'.......To fit these all you need to do is remove the 3 pop rivets on the oem tailpipes and pull them off. You then slide on the Eurostyle Exhaust tips and secure with 3 pop rivets just like OEM. These exhaust tips are hand made and are complete one off's with a limited run so you will get a little exclusivity with these tips as they are not an off the shelf item......'

Not sure how the tips on the Z4M are fitted but providing the diameter of the tailpipe from the back box is the same as the E46 M3 these should be easy to fit with pop rivets.

Thanks Alan, I was wondering how they were secured. They certainly look the part and tick the boxes ..... except the price, but guess you get what you pay for :thumbsup:
 
Yup a bit expensive but look the part. Have emailed the seller to find out what the diameter of the fitting is - certainly look good on my non M Zed and could go halves with someone else for the other two. Will await a reply.
 
To put it into prospective two exhaust tips to fit my Coupe are £90 a pair from the stealers so i don't think the price is that bad to be honest.

They do look pretty good :thumbsup:

I might be tempted to go halves depending on the diameter and how easy they are to modify for securing to a non M pipe.
 
Rather than pop rivet them could you use self tapping screws so you could remove them for cleaning.?

I do like the look of them if they do fit an non M i could interested in going halves :thumbsup:
 
i quite like the look of them too.

Bit dear for my liking, but cheaper then replacing the existing ones if you just want to bling them up more.
 
They look lovely, only thing I'd ask for non-M is whether the exhausts are far enough apart for these to both fit on together ?
 
Just take your existing tips off and get them rechromed or a professional refinish of the stainless, for a few £'s then pop rivet back on.

Save a fortune and the'll be OEM.
 
Just had a reply from seller of exhaust tips.
The sizes are,
1200mm long.
61.5mm diameter to fit onto oem back box.
76mm outer diameter at end of exhaust tip.

Going to do a bit of measuring :) .
Also think i have found a place reasonably close by that does rechroming so will be giving them a call later for some prices.

They are 20mm too long as well which means they will stick out past the bumper quite a bit.
Have just removed my tips (easier than i thought) and have ordered a polishing kit of fleabay,it consists of three different grade polishes and three polishing mops and an arbor attachment for any drilling machines all for the princely sum of £13.
Will post up the results in a few days,but dont think i will be going for the new tips.

Thought you meant 120mm, not 1200 - which is of course 1.2m :P

120 is probably ok :thumbsup:

Good move - seems a shame to spend all that money when they can so easily be refinished :thumbsup:
