It's the way we've been conditioned over the years. I'm struggling with the concept of hitting 50K.

At least it will take me another 25 years to hit 100K

Unfortunately we are, as has been mentioned, conditioned to see 80,000 as the life of an engine, drivetrain and suspension. Time to ring up and get a refurbished Goldseal engine!

It’ll be fine...for another 40,000 miles anyway, as that’s when mine presented the next big bill (for a clutch & flywheel) :P
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.
Individual Ruby Black, Individual extended champagne leather, plus many options

Yes.

No sign of pending failure until the day it just wouldn’t disengage.

BMW wanted over £3k for a clutch & flywheel replacement, but got an Indy to fit OEM parts for about a 3rd of that.

I guess the long, easy miles on the motorway helped, but it did do a fair number of weekend blasts, Ring trips & track days.

Past 60k on the Snowdon trip a few weeks back. Seem to be doing a few less miles these days. down to around 5-6k a year now. :driving: :D

You’ll catch me up though if you put many more miles on it last you did this year.
