Not sure why they are so stingy on dash lights - the Si doesn't even get one for headlamps!!!
Can't be, I don't have xenon's on my SI and I have the headlight lamp too.

The variable redline is only on M's but the headlight indicator should be on all... right? :?

edit- Dan beat me to it..

Here's how they light up as soon as you turn on the ignition.

I'm going to do this:

to see if the bulb will light in test mode if not maybe the bulb has blown.

I'd love to know why BMW thought it would be a good idea to fit this to some and not to others. Clearly the info I was given by BMW was BS.

Also - why did they think it would be good to have orange backlighting on the Si and the naff blue/white on the M. I guess orange light must be heavier!!!

I also think the rev light LEDs could have done with being left back at Halfords!!! If I see a red light in the corner of my eye on the dash - that tells me something is wrong - not that I shoulldn't do. Especially when that something could be limited electby software.

Oh well, at least I've got a washer light.

I quite like the dash lighting :?

Anyway did the test mode and still no light so either the bulb has gone or it was never fitted.

Mine definitely does not come on when starting up. The "placeholder" for it is visible in the picture below, but I have not yet had low washer fluid level so no idea if the bulb is fitted or not.
BTW, did not realise that the UK cars have both miles and km on the speedo - I thought only the North American cars had miles. Also notice that (ga41's) is only marked to 290km/h, whereas mine goes to 300. Guess I have the faster car then  .
