Mobility kit cartridges

Morning all, have any of you replaced the cartridge on the mobility kit. I recently had my car serviced and was told it needed replacing. Before I pay the dealer I was wondering if anyone knew a cheaper place online? I couldn't find any fitting the bill, even ebay drew a blank! thanks, T

:? Unless I've misunderstood, you're being told that you need to replace part 2 from the following:
RealOEM M-Mobility system

Assuming it hasn't been used, did they say why? Be interested to know if these things have a limited life span.

I bought the kit - compressor and canister - on eBay for under £50... you'd need to be lucky to get the canister alone, I'd try German eBay. Also, see what Joe at Soper can do. Cooper BMW Parts list it at £31.90.

That's right PawnS - it's the tire sealant glue that needs replacing. They do have an expiry date (I checked the cartridge and the date is 02/2010). Good news is that the dealer is only charging £20 to replace so I'll just do that. I think I got stitched up with mine as the cartridge was made in early 2005 and then put in a late 2006 model :x cheeky monkeys.

It's nothing like as effective. The Motability kit uses a reasonably powerful compressor and on demand can be set to pump the sealant into the tyre, rather than just expecting an aerosol to do both jobs. It's the sort of thing that never matters until you break down on a cold wet night then wish, or get the RAC/AA card out
