Aero Skirts

I love the look of BMW aero skirts on the Z4MC and am about to order a set. Lots of people on this forum have them and their cars look great. But before I pull the trigger, I want to ask the group if there are any negative issues I need to consider. Are they difficult to install? Do they integrate with the car as seamlessly as the standard OEM panels? Are any irreversible modifications required in the installation? Once installed, are there any problems or unintended consequences? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Think this should give you all the info you need to fit them

Thanks Redzedfour and others for the info and encouragement. I'll definitely post pics after install is complete.

Like the sound of these (I'm supposed to be buying a car that I can leave as is and already I'm getting drawn in  )

What exactly are these? Any pictures where you can see comparison, with and without?

It's impossible to resist modding a zed once you've bough it ;)

No point resisting, it only put off the inevitable

Yep its definitely looking that way :headbang: Only thing is I'm stretching myself to the limit to get one of these as it is, I'm not going to have the spare money to spend on extras :(

You will always be able to get loans, sell your children and sleep in the garage, thus releasing equity in you house

Hi M@r]{"] Here's a link to some pics when I fitted mine 18 months ago:

And to answer your other question - after an Elise it has to be an ///MC :D

I was in exactly the same place only 4 and a bit months ago... Then I discovered I needed new (winter) wheels and tyres, aerial, badges, grilles, brake light, headlight bulbs... And the list keeps getting longer. We eat soup five nights a week now and only use the heating at weekends :D

That said, I can't find these anywhere used - does that mean going to BMW and getting a primed-only set, or does someone know a different place to get them ?

Cooper BMW says £188 each in the UK, probably primed only, figure on £200 to paint, so about £600 ?

If so, cheaper than the winter rims and rubber cost, so game-on
