With all this water and dikes we have, the dealers provide a life hammer as standard. But where do you mount this thing? In the glovebox, where it lives now, it scratches the iPod, and is difficult to reach during an emergency. The center console or the somewhere in the leg room, as long as it's within reach would seem to be the place to go, but I don't want to ruin the extended leather... Any thoughts?

Re: Where to mount a life hammer
If you intend to carry one then surely it needs mounting on somewhere like the transmission tunnel, or down by the side of the drivers seat, where in the event of an accident and the seatbelt locks up you can reach it without leaning forward in the seat.
Anywhere out of easy reach and it may as well be in the boot or garage at home.

Re: Where to mount a life hammer
The Dutch BMW dealers I have seen always mount it on the side of the centre console. They actually provide two, one for each side.
Current:
911-50 Black - unique spec
X5M - 575 hp of fun in a V8
Abarth 595 Comp.
Golf Clipper - collectors item
Z4 3.0si Black Sapphire
VW ID.3
Previous:
Z4M Silver Grey - non flimper spec (gone to Bing)
Z4 3.0 Toledo

if you dont have storage under your seat mount it just under there, out of sight and easy to get to.
