Been tough to come up with something that can do the nursery drop off and put a smile on my face the same way the coupe does, but I'm leaning towards the GLA45.
Will I be disappointed? It's a 2.0 4-pot turbo, so the driving experience will be somewhat artificial compared to the straight 6.
Looking at a used version, probably the 2016 model.

GLA45 AMG - Anyone driven one?
Really??
'Artificial' in what way? Because it will have more torque at much lower evs, easier revving, more fuel efficient?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Because of the turbo - it's a bit more assisted by computers and wizardry, and a bit less brute natural mechanical power

My wife had one for over a year, really good all rounder, not as quick as I expected, 375 bhp, just never felt that quick, was nice enough to drive.
Hers was a 65 plate, had a good spec but the 20" wheels and tyres are deadful, they scrubbed a lot on turning which aparantly is normal.
We also had an extended warranty which was invaluable when we had an issue with the reverse gear crunching when. slipping into reverse, aparantly another common issue which will set you back 6-7k due to labour time.
She swapped out for a 718 Cayman s which was quicker but down on power which was strange.

GLA45 is a really nice car, pretty rare in the UK. Make sure you get one with the aero kit!
A simpe remap will see you at 420bhp and the exhaust note is sublime. Go test drive one OP...
