Code reading assistance

Post by enuff_zed » Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:53 pm

Firstly, I know there is already a thread for 'who has Carly', but in many cases there is a need for the more advanced software which not everyone uses.

Over the last few months there have been an awful lot of new people joining who have issues with their cars.
The first response is always "Get the codes read", which is of course the logical first step.
The second response is often "Buy yourself a code reader". Again, a logical step.
However, not everyone wants to rush straight out and buy a code reader, especially when that means they just have to report back with the codes to gain further advice.
So, given that there are quite a few members dotted around who already have the required kit, I thought maybe it would make sense to start a little list of who can help and what area they are in. That way a 'newbie' (or indeed a long term member) can not only get their codes read without being robbed, but is most likely going to get first hand guidance at the same time of what they need to do next.

I have previously seen people use maps where you click on an area and the local people pop up. No idea if that is feasible or how to go about it though?

It's great to see the community coming together to help each other. Having a list of members with diagnostic tools and their areas will undoubtedly be a valuable resource for those seeking assistance. Kudos for offering your expertise status and willingness to travel, Enuff_zed! This collaborative approach can make troubleshooting and getting advice a much smoother experience for everyone.
