Z3 project...no going back now!
Thank you for the photos Pondrew. Excellent so far, am enjoying the progress and really looking forward to seeing the finished car.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

You shouldn’t give away your secrets - no one would have guessed what it isPondrew wrote: My proudest work so far is the cover over the original rear view mirror mount. The metal mount doesn't come off without smashing the windscreen, so I found a bottle lid which fits perfectly. Sprayed it black and stuck it over the mount. It will have a 'period' sticker at some point in the future.

Having sold some of the BMW parts, there’s a chance that “no going back together now” might be more accurate!

Z3 project...no going back now!
This turned up today! I do like a bit of bling. I know it's a little early for such frivolities and is like wanting "smoke coming out of the chimney before the foundations are dug" but hey! Need to sort a suitable horn push to replace the black generic one.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Pondrew wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 9:34 pm Lots of painting and all the prep that entailed. Bonnet release and brackets installed. New wiper motor installed (but not wired yet).
Body and new bumper brackets installed. I had to fabricate a lot of the body bracketry as the seller of my kit had 'other' ideas as to how the body should be fitted! Still can't work out how he thought it was going to stay attached TBH.
Looks really exciting Andy. Looking forward to seeing the finished object.

Well in a 60s Ferrari anyway.
Sometimes the little changes make a huge difference!
Now you just need to get the rest of it done.
Coupes because stunning!

Bored now! I think I will gaffer tape the body on, tidy up the interior and just sell it for £50k!
I really fancy an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio....

Keep going - we're looking forward to reading about it.
Those Alfas do look good though - maybe you've been looking at Pistonheads? https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... &t=2067897
