Mapping Characteristics 3.0si

Post by Street » Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:44 pm

Are there any tuning gurus on here?

I’ve got a high mileage e86 coupe which I’ve not had long and not had a chance to drive much yet. However it has a few characteristics I’ve not found on my previous Zed’s;

It seems to hold its revs longer when backing off the accelerator. It starts a little lumpy but straightens itself out within 30 seconds. I can also smell that it’s running rich and it threw a fuel mixture code yesterday.

I’m only just starting to investigate and will be looking for intake, exhaust and injector issues to explain the mixture issues however the rev holding for a second after releasing the accelerator is a little un-nerving when not used to it. I just wondered if a poor remap might have a similar effect.

It seems to have budles of torque in the mid range as I found to my excitement going side ways on a slow corner. It could have just been the very unsticky snow tyres it was wearing :)
