Got this idea from Pondrew,on another thread,
What cars did your dad have that stick in your mind?
In my early years it was a Humber Hawk, dad used to have a part time taxi business.
I remember asking him if he had any famous people in the car and he said James Robertson Justice and he was absolutely pissed apparently.
Later he had a brand new mk2 Capri,Bronze with a black vinyl roof followed by a mk3 Cortina 1.6 XL he followed that up with 3 Volvo 244 in a row.
M40i sapphire black,tech,comfort shadow line.

Vauxhall chevette with a sticking throttle, I remember being 18 and getting a scowling look from a WPC when I was following a remembrance march for constantly reving the engine, it was either 800 revs or 2000.

A pale green Morris Traveller. I went everywhere stood on the transmission tunnel between the two front seats :o

Also a 3 speed auto Ford Corsair - awful
I remember when he bought it we couldn't find the petrol cap, so took it to a garage and asked the attendant to put 3-4 gallons in.
He asked us where it was!
Eventually found it behind a hinged rear number plate

The first car I remember was his "gold" MK 2 cortina. He loved that car but he had to sell it when he got divorced from my mum. He also had a Granada 2.8 Ghia, had a computer in it. Other than that I remember one of my dad's football team having a few Capri's.

A cream Moggy 1000 Reg DK 49.

Saw the registration a few years back on a Volvo and knew I recognised it from somewhere but couldn't remember where.
Found a photo of me and my dad standing next to his first and only car in the Yorkshire Dales with me in short trousers. It was then I saw the registration plate.

Would love to get my hands on it now.

I came home from the Maternity Unit in my Dad's 1954 Austin A40 Somerset registration RKP 264.

Then in 1967 he replaced it with a 1964 Hillman Minx registration AYE 245B.

In 1972 he replaced that with a 1970 Fiat 125 registration FME 446J which was much more exciting as it had a twin-cam engine and 4 wheel disc brakes!

Sadly in 1975 he suffered a cerebral haemorrhage so spent his last 12 years in a care home, but he did have an electric wheelchair.

Mum had kept the Fiat in the forlorn hope he'd recover, but in 1977 it became my second car so I have really fond memories of that one.
Coupes because stunning!

My old man passed his test a few months front of me, his first car was an Opel Ascona 2.0SR auto, basically a cavalier with a better interior and a little bit of a bodykit - great car.

He hen through a pile of weird Vaxhalls such as a Record / commodore etc.

My dad didn’t drive, so no car, in fact few people up our road had cars. The only vehicles we saw were horse drawn milk floats. I jest not. Happy days.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.

Ford Poplar, Morris 1000 and then a written off Wolseley 6/99 which he repaired in his garage business; that was the first car I drove.

Imagine his delight at teaching a 17 year old in a car with a three speed column gear change and the handbrake on the driver's right due to the bench seats.

A couple of Anglia's, a Zephyr Zodiac mk3, a Rover P6 3.5 but best of all was the wolseley 18/85 because there was so much room on the rear floor we could play with the Corgi Rockets while Mam and Dad Gassed us with nicotine.

That's usually not a good thing TBH!

First car I remember was a knackered red Beetle. The exhaust rotted, so my old man made a new one from 5/8" copper tube, apparently. It sounded really impressive, so he told me.

Then a 1965 Saab 96 two stroke, SBH 250D. Did about 12 MPG of premix.

Then my all time favourite car, ever. Our lush RA22 Toyota Celica ST, JJJ 656K. It had aftermarket 'Cosmic' alloy wheels. I adored that car when I was a kid. It wasn't very practical for a family of four, but my old man never really worried about anyone else TBH! :D

After that was a string of company 'pool cars' as he got promoted. He broke his leg in around 1978 so 'borrowed' company autos for a while. I remember an automatic Vauxhall Ventora for a while. Then we had a company green Maxi for a while; awful thing.

Then he changed jobs in 1980 and got new company cars every two years. First was a 1600L Cortina, NOO 123V, then he had a Cavalier hatch PMH 724X, then a Capri Laser. Then I moved out of home and couldn't care less after that.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
