Thanks I will give that a try and see whether that works, if the fan is fine then it must be the seal (hopefully) not many options for new in the UK on the part number listed from BMW OEM
https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/product ... tor-inc-z4

Did you try simply reseating it?
Or the other option of taking that seal out, measuring it, and trying to buy just a new seal?

I cleaned the area down and gently wiggled the plastic connector before the test and it was not leaking. I've ordered a second hand (only £12) of a 2012 model so I can take the seal from this without spilling out the antifreeze to see what the seal is.

When this turns up I am going to use it to measure the seal and use this hose as plug when I disconnect the one on the car to prevent the antifreeze going everywhere (hopefully) method in my madness I think.

There is a steady pressuised stream/jet going pack to the filler tank so pretty sure it is not an issue with the water pump or thermostat
For £12 you may as well give that a go yes.
Then possibly order two new seasls, refurbish the second pipe and you'll get at least your money back.
One point to note: you may find the company sells seals in minimum quantities. In which case, pretty sure you'll find home for ther others on here.

Hi question you stated in a previous message that if you turn on the aircon the fan would come on

I’ve just tried that just now

Started engine
Moved both temperature zones to coldest
Switched on aircon

Fan does not come on!

Think I have found the issue does not look like the hose but the radiator

Feck!
That looks like it's been spraying onto the pipe and confusing us all!
Did you not say you had the rad changed earlier this year?
Surely a warranty claim on it?

Well the saga continues

Checked oil and water before a 400 mile round trip up and down the m6 to see family

Washed car and getting ready to cover, checked coolant and the indicator right at the bottom

No white gunk around the engine oil filler cap

Urgh back to the garage again

When the winds died down will be pressure testing agai

When you refill the system it often drops a bit after a day or so. Try topping it up first
