What have you done to your car today?
Takes time but progress on the front end refresh is there. Today was a relief, the whole concept got proven out now that I have the blanking plates on the end of the grill and am pretty much done one fog light blank. So satisfying to have managed a long bend on the first try, that hot wire heater is proving amazing
Things will look even better on the car as the gaps and details will not be so visible with a dark background. The only bad point is that I need to source a large sheet of ABS (1600*400) to become the new link between bumper and undertray and be a front splitter while at it...

Then replaced the emblem that lost most of its colour during the aforementioned wash cycle Fortunately I had an old one kicking about, so good enough for now
Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...

Bought a 2nd hand set of angel eye lights from umfaan, wiring and connectors heavily corroded.
Stripped it all away, re soldered and hard wired them in, connected up to the car further back, in the engine bay to avoid further corrosion.

Made a start to the suspension tonight. Got the fronts done.
Also removed my 437M's as they're being dropped off at the powder coaters tomorrow for a colour change.

Installed a new AGM battery. My old battery was 5 years old and started to go flat if I let it sit for a couple of weeks.

Dropped it off to the garage to replace the front brake discs that I warped on the Nurburgring last month.
Sadly this is the first step in getting it ready to sell.

Changed the pollen filter which clearly hadn’t been done for a very, very long time.

I borrowed my neighbour opposite's flat drive... the last thing I wanted to do with a broken spring was to remove it from my steep drive without having a plan to replace the springs or get it to a garage, so I hadn't moved it since spotting the broken rear coil.
When I moved the car it popped up... then I struggled to get the wheels off. Some guidance and reassurance from Enuff Zed (thank you thank you!) and a hammer and a big lump of wood and the wheels came off and I think we (or rather Enuff) has diagnosed it as sticky brakes... the coils are not broken... and looking a them it seems like the calipers and the hand-brake drum could both do with TLC or replacement. The calipers are definitely sticking.
The rear coils are rusty as hell... not sure whether I should replace the coils anyway. The dampers are Sachs 312 468 / 27-H86-A same as the front... but seem that they might be much older (with degraded stops). The seller never claimed to have done the rear unlike the front.
So now to consider how quickly to do the suspension, and what calipers to get...

How do sticky brakes affect the standing ride height? Is it that they stick and when the car rolls forward a touch on the slope the brakes stick and pull the body down towards the ground?
