E85 prelci headlights

Post by Mo996 » Thu May 09, 2024 8:39 pm

I was looking at my headlights on my car and noticed the inner lights weren’t illuminating. I took the bumper off and noticed that the ballasts have been removed from the headlight. Just reaching out to find out if there’s a reason why someone would do this? (Some sort of upgrade) …before I order some replacement ballasts.

Also had a bit of an accident with the fog light wiring…will create another post for that

Ballasts can get water ingress and fail causing a warning on dash- I guess your previous owner was a little unscrupulous and taken them out to hide the issue. If buying replacement just go on eBay- they are hella ones and used across a range of manufacturers and can be had cheaply.

If you have Xenon lights the inner light is only for "flash to Pass". The low and high beam function are both performed by the outside Xenon bulb.

Cheers for that. All sorted. Replacement ballasts and a general clean up and they work perfect fine.
