About the wipers. My mechanic who also owns an e85 told me that you have to take apart the wiper motor and clean it. The grease inside it comes over electric contacts and starts making problems like yours.

Yep, that might be it! I did that on my first Z4 and worked a treat. I followed a thread on this forum actually so I'll dig it out.

Very easy. 30 mins start to finish.
I bought them off BTZ on here. He still has a grey set available.

I hate messing around with the awkward handle when getting the shopping out. Might do that innovative bootlid removal mod myself.
