As I said before I specifically asked about Z4 and 19"s and was told it was onlya3series problem and the alloys that were effected were discontinued.ksher wrote:An owner of 6-series told BBC Watchdog he had five cracked 19" wheels in 2 years. Total replacement cost was over £2k.
When I collected my 23i 2 months ago, dealer tried to sell me alloy wheel protection insurance. But they said that cracked wheel would not be covered by the insurance.

Re: Stuck in Idaho USA due to RFT Failure & Wheel Crack
I made it safely back home with the two cracks in the passenger side rear wheel and the two badly worn tires on the inside this evening.
Having a glass of wine now and just relaxing the last 3,000 KM of my more then 12,000 KM trip have been nerve racking to say the least.
Monday I shall see what BMW has to say about the crack that spoiled the rest of my trip. Meanwhile I shall enjoy the weekend.
Cheers,
Rolf-Dieter
PS. Last photos have been uploaded. Here is the link. I will report on the trip in more details later.
