A very meagre amount of shampoo mixed with plenty of water works as a great clay lube and has no silicones in compared to most QD's on the market. Costs little and works best imo.

Slight hijack..... how often do you rework your clay (i.e. fold over etc..) and how do you know when its finally had enough???

Working myself up to my first claying experience..... :)

Fold mine after every section i do and when you cannot get a clean side thats time to bin it or if it starts to break up then its done.

Can I use any car shampoo and water with AG clay bar? Or should I only use the AG QD spray provided as lube?

I use the hand-in-plastic bag test to decide when it's ready to move on to another section.

Your QD will be fine. If using shampoo, you wont need much and dont use a shampoo with a wax basis.
