Guiseley family euro road trip...
... after enjoying the forum meets so much, we decided that the only sensible way for all four of us to tour europe was to buy a second Z4, and with little else in terms of pre-planning we packed one with camping gear and the other with clothes / food / tech etc. and headed for Dover.
All photos straight off the iphone
1st stop was Reims (Cue obligatory pitstop shot - this part of the old circuit is still used as a main road)
Then off down the route des vins through Alsace..
.. to the national car museum at Mulhouse - Ettore Bugatti's personal Royale (£££)
... and onto Switzerland, across the Pte St Bernard pass (2.1 km above sea level at one point according to the signs)
..into Italy..
...and back to France via the Mont Blanc tunnel.
2,400 miles * 2 in two weeks
Wife and sprogs (jaRED and Guiseley Kids to use their forum names) eating lunch during one days Alpine crossing drives.
We did some non car related stuff too - but I'll save them for facebook

Main deciding point seemed to be the Satnav!! I swapped to the auto for the alpine roads, but love mine now I've got used to a manual again.
Redzed coupe gone but not forgotten , Lotus Evora providing the smiles now

I like pic 2 - it reminds me of when I were a lad.Guiseley wrote:

Not that I went grape picking in Alsace - we went to the "berries" (raspberries) at Kirriemuir.
