rear tyre choices.

Post by ben g » Sat Mar 15, 2014 10:50 pm

Well my rears are slick on the inside and on the markers elsewhere, so I think they're due to be changed

I've done some price comparisons and these are the tyres i've found:

Kumho ku39 - budget, £280 fitted for 2. Any good?

Falken 453 - mixed reviews, £300 for 2. Seem to get good reviews on here but mostly bad elsewhere.

hankook v12 evo 2 - a lot of good reviews but never really heard of them before. £366 for 2.

Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2 - £370 for 2, expensive but I know these are fantastic as I have them on my OEM wheels.

The size is 255/30/19.

Are there any other tyres I should be looking at? I've had Vredestein ultrac sessantas before but couldn't find them at a decent price.

Cheers.

Sessantas were available on event-tyres last week at £312 for two fully fitted... I am on the hunt too. Also been recommended Avon ZZ5s, cheaper. Not made the decision yet though. Oh, and inkey$ recommended Khumo Ecsta - apparently they are fitted as standard to Mercs nowadays ???

There's a thread started by me recently with lots of opinions - think it's in the wheels & tyres section....

Just checked event tyres. Extortionate price in my size :(

My heart wants to go for the goodyears, but my heads saying it's not worth the extra

I have Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2's fitted and they are really sticky tires when warmed up and really grip the road, can't recommend them enough

Just a quick update to this. Thanks to swiftly above, I went and ordered the goodyears  used a site called tyreleader.Co.UK which were cheaper than any other place.
