Hi, yes we do offer extra discounts for hosting multiple policies but we'll arrange the most suitable policy for each individual car to make sure the savings before the discount are maximised too. You'll still have just the one point of contact and a single renewal date if that's what you'd like. Please note we ordinarily have a maximum individual vehicle value of £50k under the scheme but we can refer cases individually to the underwriters. So that's a benefit - it's not an absolute limit.
Please give us a call or PM me your number and we'll call you.
best,
Nick
Nick can you give me a call please.
I have another car coming which I would like quoting for.
I have a car already with you too.
Thanks
Ash

Hi Number5, I'm sorry we couldn't get there for you on this occasion. As a niche broker we do have a specific section of the enthusiast market in which the insurers on our panel are interested. Having said that, we love Z4 owners and we do aim to be competitive. Unfortunately we can't be the best for everybody all of the time - no one provider can but we'll help as many members as we can.
So exactly what type of driver are ypu looking for ?
You specialise in Z4's yet a 51 year old Advanced driver, getting the car out of an alarmed garage to do 3000 miles a year obviously isnt it,
so what is?

You probably ARE the right profile of driver but without knowing who you are and looking at all your details I can't really comment on why we quoted what we did for this car - maybe it was more to do with your postcode or your occupation or... Maybe there was nothing amiss and we simply considered your alternative to be too cheap to compete with.
Your quote will have been based on our view (well, the insurers') of the risk presented but if you PM me your real name and postcode I can pull the quote and have a look for you. Then we can talk specifics. Happy to do that.

Hi greg81, we're phone only because we get a better feel for you, which should then result in a better quote. Can we call you? Please PM your number to arrange.
best,
Nick

Well I can't say I didn't try, but sadly CK could not get anywhere near to my existing Admiral quote, which is just a straight renewal of 2 performance cars
Surprising really, but at least it reassures me the current supplier is competitive

I found Admiral to be by far and away the cheapest for my situation. They were also happy to accept a handful of mods in the quote without it affecting the price!

Unrelated to CK but I had a surreal moment with Admiral. My 25 yr old is insured to drive the F type so I called to see what premium reduction if I dropped her. £250 was a good answer
Was then informed the XF premium would drop by £25 too, but she's not insured to drive it.
In a detailed reply they explained that if she were not driving the F type then we myself and Mrs would be driving it more. If that's the case then we drive the XF less, so the premium drops. Didn't matter the policy covers to 10k miles we'd drive less so the risk is less. Curiosity got. me so I asked if I set the XF at more or less miles would the premium charge. No - doesn't affect it if I set it lower and not if I upped to say 20k
Bizarre or what?

That's weird all over. And changing mileage has always been the biggest factor in my insurance costs. Don't understand that

confirms to me what I've always thought - insurance companies make it up as they go along.

I would take a guess that the reason CKI insurance manages to quote half the national average for their new policy premiums is that they are selective in the policies they provide - basically refusing to insure if you are in the wrong postcode. I've been refused twice based solely on my postcode and I now have a very competitive insurance with LV.com
So today got the insurance renewal notice for the Zed which is currently insured with LV. Of course the premium has increased, this time by 14%??? At least this year the insurance regulator has compelled the insurer to state that you might get a better deal by shopping around (which I always do anyway). Not surprisingly I got a better quote from LV using a comparison website (£73 less for exactly the same cover). I was about to call LV and ask to renew at the onscreen price when I remembered CKI. Gave them a call and got an even cheaper deal (£20 less and slightly better terms). Thanks CKI
Still expect to have to join the insurance quote merry-go-round at renewal time next year to get the best price as this seems to be the way of things nowadays - no reward for loyalty!
