Mr Tidy wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:31 pm I wouldn't get too hung up on a potential gap in the Service History either for an N52 engine. It may have been serviced in between with no invoice or stamp anyway.

After having had three N52 engined cars I took a punt on a 4th that had no evidence of a service between 64,081 miles on 8 June 2010 and 91,185 miles on 15 August 2016! But after that there was a stamp for an oil service (albeit no date or mileage specified) then an oil service and cam-cover gasket at 107,152 miles on 20 March 2019 days before I bought it.

It went over 123K miles yesterday and still performs faultlessly.

Phoenix Yellow with the matching Bi-colour seats is almost as rare as hen's teeth anyway!

GLWTS Ed.
Thanks Iain, although this is a lovely car and I’ve had many positive comments I feel that potential buyers will only see the unnecessary negative comments and that will put them off.

Looking for £5k £6k sports cars getting on for 18 yrs old & wanting a book full of stamps to certify its a good buy
Its not difficult to piece together the history , from 2009 to 2013 it only covered 13k & was obviously stored for part of that time as there was no MOT for years 2011 & 2012 .
It had a Ins2 done on 53k which would be pretty much bang on for the recommended factory service regime oil - ins1 - oil - ins 2 - oil .
It had a ins1 ( itself nothing more than a oil change + visual on a N52) at 83k again about right for the recommended regime .
Anyone seriously interested should stand in front of the car ( the pics alone should be enough to know if it warrants a viewing ) & a well kept example is not hard to spot over a shabby one .
The straight 6 N52 has very few issues & a cold start / warm tickover should be enough to know what you are buying into .
The 2 tone individual trim looks really fresh for its 100k / 17yrs & that alone says a lot about its previous keepers .
The spec is decent too along with a rare & sought after paint
Last service not corroborated ? WoW , surely any new owner would spend £100 after the purchase for a fresh oil + filter service & general onceover .

Lovely car Ed , i'm sure a genuine buyer will see it for what it is & have a rare example of the Si roadster to cherish & enjoy :driving:
Exactly this

It’s a shame that forum members can’t keep negative thoughts about a sale to themselves and if they are genuinely interested to PM the seller with questions. I like others on here think it’s a stunning car and if I had just joined the forum looking for a car, as I did 2 years ago I would be after it. It’s a great place to buy a car, from an enthusiast owner and much safer than Auto Trader IMHO.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

In the end it comes down to what the questions are and why they are being asked. If someone is genuinely interested in buying and is asking for clarification before proceeding further then that is acceptable. On occasion sellers accidentally miss info from the advert. and a question will prompt them to rectify this. So the question could be helpful. But what we all want to avoid is the ‘clever dick’ who is just trying to show off and score a few points.
This car is for sale from a longstanding forum member who is well known and has a peerless reputation. All the other detail he has provided clearly shows what the car is like.
Taking everything into account if I was looking for an E85 I would certainly be contacting Ed with a view to going to look at the car.
Good luck with the sale I am sure someone is going to acquire an excellent car. 👍

Thanks once again guys. I don’t worry about these things anymore. In all honesty, I want to sell but if it doesn’t I’ll enjoy it because how can you not on these gorgeous roads I have on my doorstep and then I’ll try again come Spring.

If it were me Ed, I would start another for sale thread and ask the mods to delete this one.

This thread has got to the stage of 'not being able to see the wood for the trees' IMO.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I might do that, I have someone that is very interested so if that falls through I’ll start a new one

Just wanted to say Thanks to you Lynchy was a pleasure doing a deal with you. Car is now safely at its new home thanks for all your Honesty but like I said I never expected anything more than what I got . 17 years old and under £6k for such a beauty , if we judge these cars by how many smiles we get per Pound note spent I think I had 10% worth just on the drive home in the pouring rain . keep an eye out for you at future events
