As far as ULEZ is concerned, the people of London are to blame, they voted for Khan and slowly his madness is spreading to other cities around the country.
The only way to stop it is for Londoners to vote Khan out and hopefully other politicians will get the message, hit the motorist and we hit back with our votes.

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.

It isn't that simple though!Nanu wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 7:35 pm As far as ULEZ is concerned, the people of London are to blame, they voted for Khan and slowly his madness is spreading to other cities around the country.

A majority of central London residents tend to support any Labour politician and don't have cars anyway! Outer London Borough residents have more evenly split political loyalties but are more likely to have cars. That's the mix that gets to vote for the Mayor.
But there must be millions who live just outside Khan's Kingdom who get no vote but have to enter it for work or other reasons, like my nephew who lives in Ewell but works for the Met in Twickenham. And as he does shifts a car is the only realistic way for him to get to work.
Fortunately his petrol car is compliant, but I'm sure he will have colleagues who have little choice but to to drive into the ULEZ and had to change their cars or pay £12.50 a day to go to work!
So millions of the people it affects don't actually get to vote him out.
Coupes because stunning!

Then any residents in London who own a car or business should now vote against Khan. Even those who don't have a car soon will notice prices rising from being charged more by those who do have to pay ULEZ charges and simply pass those costs on.
Taxis travelling to out local airport always quote the fare plus the parking charge of £5. Those in London will b doing the same so it will effect every Londoner one way or another

It turns out that there has been a court case that a builder's £11,000 fines have been overturned due to the ULEZ signs being illegal due to not having the costs etc. on them. Others will it now seems try to get refunds.

Heavy vehicles including lorries, buses, coaches and specialist vehicles will need to meet Euro 6 emissions standards to avoid paying the ULEZ charge.TOMGREEN413 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:47 pm Best to drive a lorry over 3.5 tons as they are ULEZ exempt......you couldn't make this Sh t up.

Fine, Euro 6 is a very high standard and produces far, far less pollutants than old cars do. Still has to pay the Congestion charge but I bet you will never see one of these in London.
