Coilovers… what to go for?

Post by Rickmitch93 » Thu Aug 10, 2023 8:06 pm

I’m soon going for a complete suspension overhaul, I’m looking at getting some coilovers but I’m stuck with what to get. I think kw’s would be wasted on me…

Im looking at
Bc racing
Yellow speed
Or b16 bilstein, I’m sort of option towards bilstein.

Anyone had any experience on their Z4m coupe. Cheers

I was happy with my BCs especially for what I paid. My review is here: viewtopic.php?t=137987

Ah brilliant. I wouldn’t only like to lower 20-25mm max. I drove Subaru wrx sti wide track some years ago that was running bc and I was seriously impressed! I know it was 4 wheel drive, but it felt like it was never coming off the road

If your budget can take KW V3s, I would consider them. Normal driving has improved a lot since I had mine installed. I have put coilovers on a few cars over the years but have never had them improve ride quality. I was skeptical of other reviews about V3s and was genuinely surprised at how much better the car felt over various bumps, lumps and expansion joints. The car is more pleasurable to drive all of the time, so worth every dollar for me. Not to say the other options you've listed won't also provide an improvement, of course.

Clubsports, very happy with mine. Not cheap unfortunately.
