Below is a quote from Josh from z4-forum. Obviously the big power numbers are not NA.

"I’ve yet to find a company that has spent more time or is as dedicated to the Z4/Z4M platform. I’ve owned a Z4 for nearly 20 years, and I personally have a built engine and high boost twin screw supercharger in my non-M, >500 whp in both my Z4Ms, and sponsor a supercharged Z4M Bimmer Challenge car. I’ve tuned Z4Ms to >600 whp on the stock ECU, and I can safely tune the most power out of a Z4M, OTS or custom. I have yet to see a tune I couldn’t beat. There will always be someone cheaper claiming more power because oftentimes these claims aren’t truly challenged in a head-to-head comparison. We claim 15 hp but usually see 20-30 whp."

Did you go for the off the shelf tune? Did you notice any difference?

I’d fitted a supercharger, so was custom. Really good attention to detail though, so imagine the standard tunes are good quality.

As for a difference, guess it’s down to what you want. Tuning an NA engine can only do so much without forced induction.

Indeed. Been down the FI route on a different platform. Tuning an engine not factory designed for a blower is a real art. Especially without lowering the compression ratio.

I'm interested in getting an Alpha-N tune from him in the near future.

I purchased the MAF based tune for my Z4MC, Josh is the man. I've been driving the car all season with the new tune and it is fantastic, more power for sure but so much smoother than before, it was money well spent.
