Airbag light coming on - B pillar?
Hi all,
My airbag light has come on and I took it to Flory's in Middlesbrough to diagnose the fault but they couldn't even find it! We have a garage at work for company vans and the lad there found it within 10 minutes. Apparently it's something to do with the B Pillar module.
I think the part I want, from looking on here, is 6567769399 but I'm buggered if I can see where it goes through looking on YouTube.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers

Pre-facelift?
Under the carpet behind the rear outer corner of the seat.
It is a shiny metal box about 3 inches square by an inch deep.
You need to lift the carpet and get a photo of it with the label clearly showing.
Then we can help you find all the exchangeable part numbers for it.
Once changed, you need it coded in to the car.
A few of us dotted around who can do this.
NB. It is likely to have happened due to damp, so get your hand under the carpet and see if the insulation is wet.
If so then you need to find where the water is getting in, and also get the yaw sensor (which is under the drivers seat), bagged up before that gets wet too.

Now I think about it, I did have a blocked drain on my drivers side so I wonder if that has overflowed at some point and ran down onto the module.

I bought mine with the airbag light on and had the first MOT occur before I'd managed to try and find a replacement module. Found clearing the codes kept the airbag light off for a few hours which was long enough for the MOT to happen without it failing on that.
Obviously fixing it is the best option

That's what I'm going to try as my MOT is due in a week or two but my code reader is too basic to pick up the fault (even Flory's can't find it!) but we have a garage at work and the lad there has managed to find and reset it.

How do I get the carpet up? Do I have to pull all the trim off? If so, any videos showing how to get it off without damaging it? Incidentally, a rear bulb went last night.......I'm having a bad week with it.

Pop the sill trim up with a trim tool. Five grey clips that may fall out but deaqd obvious how they go.MarkG - E85 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 2:32 pm How do I get the carpet up? The bit behind that trim is a similar principle. If you peel the rubber seal off the lip you can see into the gap and see where the clips are.

Cheers Zed, going to take the day off tomorrow so i can have a look at it and also replace the camshaft sensor on the exhaust side as that seems to be faulty too.

OK, then post up a photo of the module and we can set about finding you a replacement.MarkG - E85 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 2:56 pm Cheers Zed, going to take the day off tomorrow so i can have a look at it and also replace the camshaft sensor on the exhaust side as that seems to be faulty too.
Leave yours plugged in for now though as it definitely won't clear the light if it's missing.
