Well its been resurrected anyway.
I dont drink beer/lager as I dont particularly like it, however I was given a few bottles of Skye Blaven and its rather good.
I would possibly even buy some to have in the fridge

I never touch lager (it's not beer), also bottled and canned beers are too gassy.

seems an interesting thread worthy of ressurection!
I'm all for anything Belgian or Trappist... think my absolute fave is Delirium, at 8.5%, or Kwak, at 8.4%.
Or anything from Chimay, La Trappe, Trappist Rochefort, etc. I'm also partial to a Kriek beer, or even Fruli!
unfortunately they aren't readily available in this country (unless you do specialist mail order) but luckily i really like Leffe too, which you can get anywhere.

Man after my own heart there! Delirium is lovely, the red being a favourite. Kriek is good and I love Frulli! Was a time when it was on draft in every pub back in Guildford, those were happy timesbrillomaster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 2:32 pm seems an interesting thread worthy of ressurection!

I'm a big fan of the stronger beers (drunk in moderation) particularly the Belgian beers and there are lots of them. Out of all of them, Kasteel Donker is my very favourite. A 300ml bottle is well worth a try, but drink it like wine!

Wow where do you begin - this week I've been on the following:
Theakstons Old Peculiar
Shepherds Neame 1698
Abbot Ale
All fairly dark but they do go well with a nip of Laphroaig

Only red wine or gin for me.
Now and again, a nice pully ale at the pub.
