E85 5 speed shifter
As it says, looking for a gear shifter for an E85 (5 speed).
Mine has been fading for a while now and recent mould issues has rendered it horrible to look at it, and it feels weird even after a clean).
Don't need the whole set up, literally just the top gear shifter.
Thanks!

Pretty hard to hold of a decent original five speed. I’ve tried

From BMW about £75 (black). There’s at least one second hand one on eBay for £30. Plenty of alternatives if you don’t want OEM. Storm Motorwerks do nice ones.

Yes, that seems to be the cheapest you'll find a genuine BMW ZHP one. Link here:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1509500296
I've bought a few bits from Verttu and had no problems with my orders.
If you don't mind it not being weighted places like aliexpress seem to have quite a few options for more like £15!

Did see a few on eBay from a couple of breakers which might need to be the way to go.
Genuinely surprised no one has one knocking about in a parts bin!

Not sure I can bring myself to spend 75 quid on it. I'm actually also oddly thinking a brand new one will look weird given the rest is somewhat wornMr Tidy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 8:24 pm Yes, that seems to be the cheapest you'll find a genuine BMW ZHP one. Is the stock one weighted do you know? If it is then I definitely wouldn't want a non weighted one because I think that'd feel awful!

Sorry I don't know as I've only had facelifts, so all 6 speeders. But the stock one on those isn't weighted, which is why I replaced them with a ZHP!

I suspect it might also be a non weighted one then! I'll keep a look out for options.

I also need to replace worn seats. Will you buy OEM and have them recovered? I'm debating.....

As much as I've use Ali in the past for various things, it's not a place I'd want to go for for something as important as this. Last thing I want is for it to crack etc during use.FunkyGBrown wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 10:52 pm I got mine from AliExpress... Not weighted but feels absolutely fine to me.
And I understand most of this stuff is made there anyways (and maybe even in the same factories as OE and aftermarket stuff) but some stuff I'd rather just not mess around with
