lowering springs

I want to lower the M before this years Autobahn/Stelvio/Route Napoleon trip :driving: and was going Eibach but looking at the CA autmotive site the H&R look good but they are another £70. Any feedback on whether they are better springs/value or just cost more and to stick with my original Eibach which I have used before on my previous JCW Mini.

The story goes that Eibachs lower the car slightly less and IMHO actually improve the ride at lower speeds. The h&r springs will lower more but ride suffers more than stock.

I'm anxious to see this thread develop as I'm in the market for lowering springs too, hoping to find something that strikes the right balance between aesthetics, performance and comfort.

I have Eibachs are the ride is crap...Then again, it was crap before i put them on too!

Looks good though, certainly wouldn't want to go lower!

i'm on Napoleon Road last sunday, 15°C at 1100m, and the tarmac is good for a lowering setup.

for me is with Eibach, not too lower, but good feeling... only on a good way, when i test on bad tarmac,

the car is like a powerplate :D

but i ride on 19" wheels, and for the look, eibach is cool!

on 18", i prefere stock springs; better in all conditions!

I know its not an M but here is my car lowered on Eibachs and 19" wheels. The ride is pretty solid but the overall look looks pretty sweet I think - enjoy :D

Has anyone else found the Eibachs a little choppy over bumps compared to OE?

Mine also appears to have more body roll since I fitted them. :(

I'm also interested in this.

Having looked at the Nitron Coilovers they come with Eibach springs as part of the kit!

When I had my M3 the H&R were a step up in quality but rode very hard. I ended up fitting a set of Intrax springs, but i've looked into these and they don't make a set for the Z4.

Just ordered some eibachs - £185 delivered .

Considering fitting them myself , any thoughts , hard job ? I have basic mechanical skills :D

I'm doing the same route at the start of may. There's 9 of us going. I'd be interested in your routes, were just looking into ours now.

Rears are simple fronts you need to take the struts out but it's not that bad, half a day.

Save a little more money and buy coilovers. Stock struts don't work well with lower springs and coilovers offer a much better ride. Ask me how I know...
