E87 winter wheels?

Post by Red_Zed » Thu May 31, 2012 6:07 pm

Hello Chaps,

Will my set of 17" x 7" ET47 BMW winter wheels fit an E86 safely? Fitted with 205/50/17 93V Icebears currently.

BMW spec'd them for a 135i so they shouldn't mis-behave too badly, but I'm not sure about fitment / handling issues?

Thanks for any guidance, Mark :)

Any Z4 wheel/tyre fitment experts on here? Somebody I might be able to PM perhaps? :(

Yes they should, however the correct profile should be 45, so the overall diameter will be slightly bigger

Thanks Sars.

I would have thought the difference between 225/45/17 and 205/50/17 would be negligible?

The 205/50-17 will yield a overall tire diameter of 25.1".
The 225/45-17 which is the recommended 17" tire size has an overall diameter of 25" exactly.

IMO the difference is negligible...
