As my wife has accepted a new job this week which requires a lot of travelling, we have bought her a new car to do the mega-miles she will now cover. So, we don't have space or time for 4 cars and only 2 licenses so the Roadster S has to go......sad: but true!

In short, we are 3rd keepers, she's a Sept 2004 car, 52,187 miles (she is no longer in use so miles will not increase except for odd 'service runs'), full BMW service history and she is utterly mint and perfect in every way. There is nothing to spend on her prior to an MOT test in late September. Fastidiously maintained and easily a show standard example, and better than anything else out there for sale and in a top handful of cars condition-wise: so in no way your usual used car dross. £14,850 ONO.

Here is the PH ad with loads of info and pix.

Now on Autotrader, too.

Holler if interested. :D We're in no hurry to move her as she's insured and garaged, so we can hold on to her for you if you have a car to sell/finance to arrange and pay us a suitable deposit to hold her.

^ should not that be you? You would then have the perfect pair of Alpina Roadster S's in mirror like color schemes!

Good idea... then I could start to breed them on my secret island...

...but I don't have time to drive #320 enough as it is... and I couldn't fit both in the garage... and my wife would kill me... :voodoo:

...and it would be weird having the negatives side by side

Thanks Perry! She is a truly lovely car and will make someone a really nice toy. We've loved having her :driving: and will miss her  but you know sometimes things just HAVE to change....like jobs

Ade,

it's truly sad that you haven't done the one thing that would enhance #168 beyond all measure and ensure that she has people lusting after her and waving bundles of cash under your nose...

... it's time to man up and stubby her

Sad to hear you're selling, Ade. Good luck, it's a lovely car someone's going to get

Tapatalking...

I'd be surprised if she doesn't sell quickly, but if you're still in possession in a few weeks time, come along to Zedfest and put a for sale sign on her...

Guess you might need to wait until those two "shonky" ones go first.

There is a Welsh BMWCC meet on the Bank Holiday weekend which we've been invited to attend (as non-members), and if, as expected, we still have her we'll take her along with the B3SBT and stick her on show 8)

Here are a few other pix I found, with the 1st four under the unbelievably revealing vehicle prep lights at the Sytner meet last September:-

why would the garage so boldly advertise "silicone free zone"?

They aren't advertising - this is in what is normally a back of house area (i.e. non-customer area). I presume it's for health reasons. It's pretty nasty stuff.

There's a sign like that at every branch of Sytner's because Frank Sytner had a lifelong dislike of women that had augmentation surgery

I think it's due to paint spraying ?

Spot-on! If they get silicone in the atmosphere it makes the paint blotchy and you get small 'poolings' in the finish. It's disastrous for them and means a full strip and re-paint if any gets in (and they spot it....). I've seen the results of silicone-inclusion in paint more than once..... :x and it goes without saying that there is no silicone-inclusion in #168's paint!

If you take your car into a good bodyshop, the 1st thing they will do is remove all traces of silicone they can find on your tyres/trims etc to prevent it ruining your new paint (and that of nearby projects).

However, the vast amount of silicone in evidence on that show-day was in complete ignorance of the sign
