Ordered spec and production updates (updated 19/03/15)

Post by pritchp » Sat Feb 28, 2015 6:30 pm

Hey!

I have just ordered my new Z4 and was hoping someone could answer a question for me. I have ordered the professional loudspeaker option at £870. I'm not 100% what it includes though. Also, is it worth it? I have tried to look on here but there is so much confusion over different option levels so I am hopeful someone can explain it to me.

my spec is as follows:

- 20i M sport
- Alpine White
- Black Kansas leather
- comfort package
- media package - BMW professional
- 19" 326 M alloys
- Sport auto transmission
- Windscreen with grey shade band
- Seat heating
- Loudspeaker system BMW professional.

Is there anything that i haven't selected which I am missing out on?

Many thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

We have a similar spec on a 28i. The only thing that I wished I had is the heated steering wheel. I'm sure you will love the car.

Congratulations, can't comment on the professional speaker system, but I can tell you the standard is woefully underpowered

I have a 20i with the professional speakers, well worth it! While not nearly as good as some of the Audi Bose or the HK in a 3 series, the system does sound good, especially at high volume and with the roof down. Is it worth £870, probably not. Would you regret not spending the money and getting the basic system, definitely. Bottom line, it's an overpriced must have imo.

The system includes a powerful amp and 14 speakers compared to 6 speakers and no amp the base set up. I think there's 11 in the business speaker set up and the amp is not nearly as powerful.

The professional system also adds DSP settings to the radio.

I hope you added a wind deflector to the options!

Thanks Billy! I went ahead and stuck with the professional loud speaker option in the end so I'm glad to hear that it does deliver a good sound!

My car enters production next week! :D

 you won't regret it if you enjoy music! And if you ever do, go sit in Z with the standard speakers for a few mins!

That's pretty much my spec (I haven't got media package) and I think the Loudspeaker professional is a must, the standard system is pretty poor.
+1 on the wind deflector though

Update:

Just had a call from the dealership to say my car has left the factory and is on the way to the port now.

However, apparently BMW are experiencing a week and a half delay in shipping so it looks like my wait has been increased slightly :(

This leads you to the magical question do you spec a car with a small engine and lots of nice toys or do you spec a car with an amazing engine and no toys for pretty much near the same price?
