Finally - its landed, new home in Bournemouth
After 3 yrs on/off through many test drives of - vx220, elise, S2000, and of course boxster the Z4 won
The boxster was the front runner for some time, but there are so many ropey ones and although its nice to have a Porsche the engineering quality and more for the money Z4 won. In fact its not talked about much on here, due to low hps, I guess but for me the uplifted 2.5i ( so M equip ) with 6 spd box, straight 6 etc I think is fantastic. Its so smooth, delivers good m.way stats, cheap to insure and really, really love it. The dark blue also pulled me in and these driver MUCH tighter than the Boxster you will get for same money, as it'll be 3 yrs older
Only issues in 50 miles of nervous 'private sell what could be wrong' is the constant flashing led on roof down, so looks like a hall sensor is out as motor continues and never enters window up stage, but it has no affect on driving
Anyway, officially joining the club and a few pics, with no interesting background, but just rapping up a quick clean ......

Your Zed is looking good. I think you're right about the flashing light, sounds like a sensor. There are many roof experts on here so they may add something. One small correction - its a straight six not a V6

Of course a straight 6 , what a plum, been looking at it for 1/2hr today getting rid of a ton of pollen dust all over the bay ....
Added pic of that, as it may never be that clean again, just new car fever ...

Nice colour. I'm an idiot so this maybe a stupid observation but is the flashing roof led due to roof not clicking in place, it's fairly common, on mine (2004) it's intermittent so if it annoys I just push it down by hand,

Yes, I have already hooked up with Bowser - he's been helping with the halls, very helpful chap.
As I understand it, the roof locking down is not something that exits on the face lift, just boot shelf down ( from the micro switch ) to go and hall sensor to end - so mine never gets to that, but sits down fine visually
I have say, the straight 6 is a dream to drive, cruising across the New Forest yesterday, it pulls in low revs in 6th, ticks over like a dream, cruises on m'way ( getting 32 mpg ) and revs so freely, at ~5K RPM the second wind comes. And the M suspension and seats make this model a dream pick for me.
Who needs a lottery win to burn some good rubber. Strangely the small of the car is great, top down in garage even makes my garage smell good, sort of leathery, hot enginey, light classic car smell - I think maybe the sun is getting to me .....

That's a great looking car you've got judging by the pics. Seems like someone specced it well. What year is it?
