Sat Nav & TMC ?

Post by ronk » Fri Mar 27, 2009 8:20 pm

The TMC indication is only Green when the radio is tuned to Classic FM 100.3 or listening to a CD. When another radio channel is selected - the indicator "TMC" turns red - Is this correct?

I've trawled through the menu 's and I cant find anything!

Any advice would be appreciated.

You can change the station that the TMC is collected from, I usually use Radio 2 as I can pick that up in more areas than any other.

Yes - that's correct. The Z4 uses a single channel tuner so if you tune to another channel than the set TMC channel, then it will drop TMC for your chosen channel. Of course playing a CD allows the tuner to stay on TMC.

Other BMW's such as the X5 use a twin channel tuner so one is always on TMC and the other free for your chosen station

That would be better - Next question how do I do that? I can't remember seeing an option to select that.

I assume that it will only work on the one selected radio station? ie will not work in the background?

Well Real Radio has to be better than Classic FM. So how do you change it?
