Newcastle Mid Week Run Tues 19th July - Lakes
We picked the right day - it was glorious!
9.30 saw us and PortheZ4 meeting up with AlienZed and our new mid weeker - Jasparoony in his fabulous E89. We were delighted that Chezsherman could join us as well.
The first part of the run to the Lakes took us to Alston and on from there to what is becoming our hub - Hartside for a brief first stop. On the way, I checked my mirror and saw we'd picked up another Zed - Cherrym joined us en route!
No apologies needed for making this one of our favourite routes - if the traffic gods are on side it's a fabulous drive.
Mid week makes for a more satisfying run but even so we were held up at the bottom third by a couple of coaches - just have to chill out and relax
Met a Canadian who parked up and called over for a chat about the Zeds
One for a future run; this location looked promising but didn't open until too late for us. Cherrym had to head off back home but it was good to have him with us for the first part of the run.
The relaxed 'bimble' started from then on as we hit the outskirts of Penrith.
Finding parking was difficult for all so we kept on over Kirkstone.
And on over the other side
Jasparoony and Chezsherman had to head off at this point. We worked out our route home (with a thought to AlienZed heading off at some point)
So no prizes for guessing which route we took back . . . with AlienZed deciding it was worth coming back that way with us before heading home. We had a cracking run up Hartside and with the temperatures being so high it was appropriate to raise those bonnets!
It's always sunny when AlienZed comes to join us - so we're looking forward to his next visit! (Although we've promised to take a run down to his 'neck of the woods' and take a run out with him there in the future).
Another fabulous day, varied driving and brilliant company.
